Alright so during one of the episodes of tekzilla they showed off a program. i know it exists but i can't remember what it is called.) that allows you to connect two computers (or macs or pc-mac etc etc) together and allow you to use 1 mouse and 1 monitor.

Does anyone know!!?????

(NVM I FOUND IT ITS CALLED SYNERGY) http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/

allow you to use 1 mouse and 1 monitor.

I believe Synergy requires there to be one monitor per computer, but allows for sharing of a keyboard and mouse (as opposed to the single monitor you mentioned).

cheers,

That was a worthless response.

Synergy works between different OSes and even though it hasn't been updated in two years it's still worthy. However, if you're connecting multiple Macs, Teleport (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/22270) is much more modern.

can anyone say KVM switch?Based on what the OP was asking for, the correct answer IS a KVM switch.

Synergy shares the keyboard and mouse, NOT the monitor.

I use a wireless logitech keyboard (loud clunky, but perfect for typing), a logitech MX Laser mouse, and a 19" monitor, with a HP laptop and a Macbook both running in dual screen mode, switching between the systems using a TrendNet (ie cheap) KVM.
