Gaming System Discussion, PS3, Wii, XBox360

Ok well in my opinion, the best of all is the 360, because it has been able to maintain itself, well its been a year and their STILL selling almost as the same consistency as last christmas. Also all their games are awesome. There is really no competition.

The Wii comes in second for me because its something that no one has made, like we all go to the arcade and play shooting games, and we hold a plastic gun. With other gaming systems you have to work the controller. IDK I just think its pretty cool. And also as Alex said, their not trying to compete with the PS3 or the 360, because its much cheaper, "Their saying you can have your PS3 or your 360, but also have a Wii"

PS3 really has been a disappointment to me, First all the issues with Making the damn thing, then shipping problems, then problems with batteries... ugh!, and also I really dont see a big difference from the PS2 to the PS3, I know about the graphics and the blu-Ray but I dont see any new games coming out specifically for the PS3 or Exclusives ect...



What do you guys think?

I dont have any of these gaming systems, but a friend of mine has them all. so I have to get kicked out of his house before I leave on my own

PS3 for me.

I was a huge fan of the Super Nintendo, and the PlayStation controller looked and felt sort of like the SNES controller, just more comfortable. I used to play XBox with my friend a lot, but the controller wasn't comfortable. The buttons stuck up and dug into the bones of my thumbs.

I will stick with the PlayStation consoles until they ever decide to change their controller in a later PS model.

I know that's a bit vague to base my decision simply on a controller, but that's me.

i think people who say PS3 are the greatest, just plain ole' dont know what they are talking about. I have Xbox 360 and Wii and i love them both. The consoles are something i have studied very hard and over PS3 = meh ballz.

For me

#1 Xbox 360
#2 Wii
#3 Atari 5800
#4 PS3

Only thing PS3 is good for is its an inexpensive Blu-Ray drive, and the only reason i would buy it is for the Blu-Ray drive.

I'm saving up for an Xbox 360. I have an Xbox, but want to make the switch.

I've never been a Playstation fan. This will probably sound trivial, but I never got a good handle on the button configuration of the controller.

Before the Xbox I had a Sega Dreamcast and I loved it. I sold it right before I got the Xbox. Before that system I had a couple different Atari's. The Jaguar, the Lynx and a 5200. All great systems in their own right too.

I'm not what you'd call an avid gamer. But I love playing Xbox whenever I can squeeze in an hour or two of quality time with it.

So the 360 would be my top choice when I finally get my hands on one.

If PS3 really beat them all then they would have all of their best games ready for launch. Lets be honest the only good thing it has going for it right now is Resistance and that really isn't that innovative of a game although I find the plot kind of intriguing.

The 360 had plenty of awesome games at launch:
Oblivion
Call of Duty 2
Condemned (short but awesome)
and all of their quality arcade titles and awesome internet support
(I could think of more things but launch was over a year ago now)


Even the Wii has more killer apps going for them then PS3
Zelda
Rayman
Excite Truck
Wii Sports
and a bunch of virtual console games

They are losing horribly as well, they haven't even sold half a million units yet while the wii has sold over a million.


Sorry if this sounds a bit fanboyish but I think Sony should have waited till they at least had a few more killer apps going for them.

1. The BEST Graphics/Graphics Engine
2. Awesome Controller
3. Awesome games (Soon to come :D )
4. Firmware updates which will increase the productivity/capabilities
5. Much much more, Blue-Ray, Wireless Internet built-in, Tons of media storage etc.
6. PSP Compatibility
PS3 = Pure Gaming Goodness :D :D :D

I can understand that. I didn't say PS3 is the greatest...I just have been a PS'er for a long time, I guess XBox and Wii don't give me enough reasons to abandon Sony. Now if Final Fantasy series get released on the XBox 360, then we'll talk.

The only people that would disagree with that are fanboys and the console manufacturers and their respected companies.

The reason for that is that makes the competition make money.

Now every developer and every gamer should agree with your opinion. Developers will make far more money if its available on every platform.

This will sadly probably never happen seeing how companies like Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are willing to pay top dollar for exclusives.

Or if that company publishes the game, Like Gears of War is published by MS game studios and Zelda is published by Nintendo. MS game studio games will sometimes be ported to PC.

I hear you completely. I speak on behalf of PC gamers, really. That was a more bias opinion. But as I think about it, I'm sure those that don't have good computers would want to try out some PC games that just aren't available for their consoles.

In a perfect world it's a nice thought, but you're completely right, there are too many contractual agreements between the console companies and certain software publishers.
