I got in this carrot kick this morning and ate 2 18"-carrots, giant things. Now I feel nauseated and like my guts want to explode. I didn't realize carrots did this. I tried eating, and I threw up, and really don't need to be doing that right now. But nothing wants to stay down and these damned carrots are killing me. I didn't know they did this until I started wondering if the nausea was caused by them and googled it.

How can I feel better? Because I want to cry.

What skyz said ... it'll *ahem* pass.
I'd also suggest Gatorade, the electrolytes will help calm the stomache.

Its not the carrots fault. I am assuming you ate them raw. Thats a lot of fibre for the body to break down and process.

If you are craving carrots ....

Take the carrots, slice them thin, cook them in a pot with chicken stock (enough to cover) until almost tender, add 2Tbsp of butter, and the same of brown sugar. Let it all carmelise into a thickened sauce (it will soak into the carrots as they continue to cook). Awesomely sweet. Perfect side for poultry or ham.

i like them shredded

they look pretty and are easy on the tummy

they work well (shredded) on sandwiches especially avacado sandwiches

carrot juice with celery and beets is great

i used to have fresh juice everyday my palms and the soles of my feet were peach / apricot colored

I grabbed them on the way out the door to out shots class, didn't have time to cook them. I love then especially when steamed with butter!!

And I think I'll b stupid and go do just that. Cody asked me yesterday if I wasn't pregnant already since I've been having tons of killer cravings lately, and they shift in a matter of minutes. I think I ate eight corn-tortilla quesadillas yesterday. But...gotta get some weight back on. If I weren't huddled on the couch I'd go make some. Hell, I'll have to work up to the carrots. No way I can get to the store for Gatorade or ginger ale (yummmmmm, ginger ale...).

Remind me never to eat a yard's worth of carrots ever again.

BTW - Here is the glazed carrot recipe (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler-florence/braised-and-glazed-carrots-recipe/index.html) I was talking about.

More details than I had.

If you like carrots, I guarantee you'll like these.

If you can afford/find them, organic carrots are the best. There are only really three things I think taste better enough than the "inorganic" vegetables to bother with: tomato, lettuce, and carrot.
