Id love to send my computer output to my tv so my friend and can get some retro gaming happening.

I have asus f6s notebook.
It has a Nvida 9300m chip set inside.
Externally I have an HDMI port, vga port, USB a PCMCIA Smart slot.

(Ive found an 80 dollar solution but I wonder if there is a cheaper way ;) )

I was wondering if you're in the US, could you use your $40 coupon to buy a digital-to-analog HDD converter that also accepted VGA input?

And if you're not in the US, you might like to take advantage of the $40 coupon, also. "How?" you might ask. Simple: As customers in the US are able to purchase two such boxes with a $40 rebate, and these boxes are generally over $50 in cost, they may purchase the converters with the rebates and resell them on ebay with prices between $10-$30. http://shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_nkwZtvQ20converterQ20boxQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ _mdoZQQ_sopZ12

Check to see that your signal outs match the box you buy, of course, unless you wanna hack the digital-to-analog box, which will be the DIY fun for 2009.

What inputs does the TV have ...

Antenna?
S-Video?
Video in RCA (plus left/right) jacks?
Scart Plug (its a Euro thng)?

What you have is composite video.
There are USB adapters out there, but they are for composite input, not output (used for grabbing video from camcorders and such).

The $80 solution you found I am guessing takes a VGA signal and converts it to a composite analogue signal. There are a number of boxes out there that do that, and they are all in the $65-150 range.

I suspect that what you have found is going to be as good as it gets.
