November 10, 2008 - Revision3, the TV network for the Internet generation, today announced impressive growth for 2008. With revenue tripling in the past year, viewership growing to 140 million minutes of engagement monthly and more than 60 advertising partners, Revision3 enjoys strong momentum and increased market penetration as the company moves into 2009.

A business fiscal year does not correspond to a calendar year.

In before all of the "Why the firings and saying it was because of the financial crisis!!" comments.

Past performance is not an indicator of future growth. We're proud of Revision 3, but that's not an excuse not to be prudent.

No way to get around the fact that, at best, it's poor taste to proudly proclaim record growth weeks after laying people of around the Hollidays.

I can't argue with that. The two events do seem to send different messages.

Well isn't this a lovely topic to follow up the firings thread.

Congrats,

Good luck trying to get the same, after releasing 1/2 your big names.

How odd, fire your big names and then announce this? I understand that Internet Superstar was having trouble holding on. I was under the assumption that Web Drifter did quite well. And I thought that PopSiren was doing decently, but needed time. I think that comparing everything to Diggnation and Tekzilla is foolish. Diggnation had plenty of time to get big. And Tekzilla was a show that everyone has been wanting since the Screen Savers went off the air. Honestly, I was checking Revision3 daily, where now I watch a couple shows weekly. Constant disappointment is not wat has gotten Revision3 this far. And is not what will make it grow in the future. My rant is over. Thanks!

I was under the assumption that Web Drifter did quite well.No one has said Web Drifter is canceled yet. Martin tweeted something about a possible season two the other day, and talked about it on TWiT I believe.

umm, let's see. if diggnation, tekzilla, TRS, and etc. are at say 300% growth. and popsiren, IS, etc. are at say -10%... wouldn't that mean that overall Rev3 is growing, just a few shows are not? And also, let's not forget that these figures are not how Rev3 currently is, it's how it was at the end of the last fiscal year.

The message is "Revision 3 is growing and prospering (all you potential VC's out there) and at the same time it is making the tough decisions to stay in a profitable zone."

I think the announcement of record results is necessary, albeit tough to do at this time.

Good work Revision 3.
