So we had a best sidekick thread and I figured we needed a best henchmen thread. What villain has the best muscle working for him/her?

I think Billy Zane and Co. from the Back To The Future trilogy are my favorite for comedic reasons, but Destro and the Baroness are the coolest in my opinion.

wow, this is a great topic. same with the sidekicks one. i feel an "oldschool drome" vibe here....mmmmm...now just don't turn this into a barrage of lists, but actually discuss each other's and i'll be in heaven. :)

That ugly guy from The Rocketeer.

For me he's the quintessential thug. Big, ugly, mean guy that unquestioningly follows orders.

as a single henchman i gotta go with Storm Shadow. he stood loyal to Cobra for so long even though he knew he could kick their collective asses.

i forgot just how many cool henchmen were part of Cobra. Zartan and the Dreadnoks were awesome too.

Darth Maul was a henchman, a thug AND a goon.

What else would you call your apprentice...

The Foot Soldiers. There were just many of them and they would come from anywhere, even phasing through the floor in Turtles in Time.

The droogs from A Clockwork Orange! Though Beebop and Rocksteady are good choices too.

daaaamn, that is one short skirt for a children's cartoon!!! Man, I wish someone would catch her getting her Hilton C*nt Club Initiational kooch shot while walking out of a limo.

and satan's post a little while ago "welcome to hell" could not have been more fitting coming from him.

Also, my submission that hasn't already been said, from a perspective of me as a child:

the puddies from power rangers. Why? Cause they'd have a SURE-FIRE weakness when you're playing power rangers.

Remember when you were little and there were those assholes?:
"tag!"
"nuh uh, you didn't tag me!"

"oh, i so totally cut off your leg!"
"shoes don't count!"
"i didn't hit your shoe, i hit your leg!"

yeah...if someone was playing a puddy, these types of ****s would be ****ed, why? cause you hit their chest, it's a big target and they can stop playing ASAP. Hell yeah, puddies, way to have the stupidest, most vulnerable and shitty weakness EVER. Rita, seriously, if you ever design cars, remind me never to buy one.

Great topic.

A gotta couple of favourites. Fairly obvious ones like Martin Landau in North By Northwest and Benicio Del Toro in License To Kill. Del Toro was especially awesome because he had those dark eyes and creepy smile that said "I just shanked your mum and I can't wait for your turn."

All time scariest goon is from Foul Play, some old Chevy Chase spy movie. When I was little I caught it on the TV and thought "Hey, it's that dude from those Vacation movies! This should be aaawesome!" Then some bloody albino henchman starts chasing him and gives me nightmares for weeks! Not cool.

I found a picture of him. I didn't even know the name of the movie til I looked it up. Still pretty scary. The bastard.

and satan's post a little while ago "welcome to hell" could not have been more fitting coming from him.

Just seeing as how only a few people actually explained their choices.

And dude, the fact that I know what Puddies are makes me look back at my childhood and wonder what the hell was wrong with me.

I do like Zartan, he and his crew the Dreadnocks were straight guns for hire. To me they also personified the generic "punk" goons seen in so many other films, cartoons, and video games.

Calderon is my favorite goon from Jon London's gang. He's the Bob to JLo's Joker.
