Ok Rad Ones, the holidays are upon us and some of us are close to finishing our shopping, while others will wait until the last minute. During a discussion tonight I realized, I'm not really sure what I want this year......so the question is, what is on your wishlist this year?

Either a new computer or laptop, preferably a good HP laptop. I'm gonna need one for my classes this semester.

I honestly dont know either...I normally buy whatever it is when i want it.
I dont own either of the new rock band or guitar hero sets. so one of them would be neat.
A good video camera would honestly be on top of my list, if not a 4WD jeep or something, my Yaris cant do the snow an its getting that time of the year.
A loved one would also be nice... -_-; fail.

Same thing as every year...that decorations/sales/music won't start until the day after Thanksgiving in the states.
Yep, setting myself up for disappointment ever year, but then I don't celebrate any major holidays.

I want Mass Effect, and maybe some socks. Aside from that I have nothing on my list yet.

Some blu-ray movies or Left 4 dead/dead space. I also asked for a holga camera but I don't think i'll get much of what I want.
Now that I'm older I actually like to get other people gifts more than get stuff myself. I still have to put together a list for everyone so I can start my shopping.

I think I've convinced my wife to let me buy/get me this:

I'm sick of my GPS and XM cluttering up my truck and all of the Friggin' wires all over the place. The blutooth will be nice as well.

Thanksgiving and Christmas are just the same as any old day to me, except alot of places will be closed. I won't be buying any gifts, receiving any gifts, or getting drunk at my brother-in-laws while complaining that the turkey is too dry.

My wish list is pretty simple this year:
A nice tea set (maybe something antique?)
A pearl necklace from the boy (not that kind...sickos)
Some futureshop gift cards (we are buying a T.V sometime)
Socks.... hundreds upon hundreds of socks....
and a game...probably either fable 2 or fallout 3... haven't decided yet.

For christmas I wish JediBitch (the girl that stays hot while completely changing her appearance in every photo she's posted on rev3) would post more pics of her pretty hair, eyes, and/or lips. If your sea-shanty writing boyfriend is in them, that's quite ok.

for video games a blu-rays, i made a wishlist on half.com and told my girlfriend about it....also told her that i don't mind getting used games if they're in good condition.
this, my friends, has been awesome.
but other than that, i really want a fedora and a 3 piece suit.
and a job in tech / IP law.

Same here.. Though in Canada, it's cheaper to buy games from Amazon.ca with a different email address each time and that $10-off new customers coupon, than it is to buy used games at Blockbuster or EB, at least when it comes to $60-65 titles.
Example: I just got Call of Duty: World at War from EB Games. $73 after tax. Also bought it on Amazon.ca, $50 after tax and free shipping. I'm returning the Amazon copy and getting my $73 back.
Had I found it used there, it'd be $67 or $62 at the least... Not worth it, still.
Any future purchases will be through Amazon.ca, at least until the code stops working. :) I explained that all to my wife as well, and she's all about saving money, so she's happy about that and how I don't mind used games, if they're the better price.
That's basically my entire Christmas list, just games, guitars, and a laptop. I probably won't get any guitars or laptops, though. Too pricey.

PS3 I hope.
Best deal so far? Sign up for a Sony Credit Card and get a $100 rebate on a Sony purchase $299 or more. Unless a Black Friday deal comes along to beat that ... then thats as good as it gets.

I am having a horrible time getting ideas from Anakin for Christmas. His dad is going to help him build his first computer but I am clueless.
So far when I ask him he says he just wants money. When I ask him what else he wants it is pretty insane. Tickets to see Black Eyed Peas (not touring), Hives (not touring), or possibly Pink (not touring-plus it is because he thinks she is cute in the tough girl way-I am so screwed). He wants to learn how to fly a plane. He wants to fly in a helicopter. Wants to learn to surf, go scuba diving to see a coral reef, and my personal favorite of the not going to happen any time soon, a crossbow. Oh, and the constant request, to be allowed to play WOW.
The only practical thing he has requested is tennis lessons and Grandma called dibs. I refuse to do any more Pokemon because I spend enough on that damn thing all the time. We have Netflix and Gamefly subscriptions, it is just cheaper than buying everything. Once he beats the game, he never picks it up again, and that never takes longer than a week even with school.
Any suggestions for a kid who loves science, space, dragons, computers and reading?
I wish TRS would do a Geek Wish List like Oprah does for normal women. I always use her suggestions for my Aunts and In-Laws. But for geeky little boys too big for Toys R Us and too little for Wired's list, I am at a loss.

How much do helicopter rides cost? I lived fairly close to a small local airport for a long time, and I know you could buy a 45 minute tour of the city in a little four man plane for pretty cheap.

After a fine, fine evening of witty banter, jovial whimsy and fricassee, I give helicopter rides in my bedroom for free. Longer than 45 mins though. It takes 45 mins just to board.

The cheapest I found was $375/hr and you have to rent by the hour.

I was going to suggest a tandem skydive ... but you need to be 18 :(
Crossbow - very cool, but at his age, only if it fires nerf arrows.
Since you are close to a large body of water, has he ever been out sailing? I knows its more a summer thing, but dinghy sailing can be a lot of fun. There has to be a kids sailing school attached to a yacht club down there. Might be something different for him to try.

No. IF Blockbuster have a store nearby, they are still the better deal. I can take the DVDs back to the store and exchange for stuff on the shelf. It used to be a lot better - a 1 for 1 exchange plus a free instore bonus coupon, but now you get only 3 instore swaps a month. All the same, its a good deal - esp if you've watched the videos on Friday, and want a replacement for Sat/Sun.

What's their monthly rate/discs ?2 discs out at a time, $16.99/month. No limit to number of discs per month. It only works out better for me because of the instore exchange ... otherwise NetFlix is the better deal.

Does the instore exchange make up for the netflix deal being the same price but with 3 discs at a time ? I wonder how many titles you would get, and a netflix user would get in a month, exchanging a fast as possible. Can you do more than one instore exchange in the same day ?

Dyslexic rabies ? You bite a dog ? Non-anatomically correct Barbies ??
Speaking of Barbie. When I lived in an apartment building I got a letter asking for a signature from the woman who created Barbie. Turned out I'd opened my neighbors mail and the quiet little old lady that lived next to me was the woman who created Barbie. George Wallace and the guy who built and owned Tail O' The Pup (the hotdog looking hotdog stand in LA Story etc), both lived in that building too.
