For Alex's controller problems with the PS3, he could just buy a USB PC controller that mimics the 360 controller.
Pretty much any standard USB pad will work on the PS3.
The Chillstream by Logitech is reported to work, and feel similar to the 360 controller:

Jeff hates the constant dying and redoing and dumb AI of R2, so I can't wait to see his review of Mirror's Edge, considering I died very little in R2, especially compared to Mirror's Edge. Guess we'll have to wait until next week. I've got my eye on you, Jeffrey Cannata...
I am a bit sick of hearing how the weapons appear right before the bosses. Sure, in some cases, that's true, but there were several times where I didn't even find the LAARK until after a big fight, or whatever... But overall, I agree that the single-player campaign was hurt - and not as good or as long as Resistance: Fall of Man. The co-op mode is the best part of the game, though... Sad that the three of them didn't play it together, though.

Now that "Meh" is a word (http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2008/11/heh-meh-is-the-word-officially.php), I'd like to use it to describe Quantum of Solace. Action was fun though.

Now I really want to know the answer to "In which movie do we see singing Japanese high school girls in a nightclub?" if for no reason then out of pure curiosity.
I just can't seem to picture it in any of those movies. Maybe Blade, but I still can't even picture that.

I'm not even talking about the boss fights. EVERY checkpoint had the exact right weapon that was necessary to finish that section. Oh, look at that, a shotgun right at the checkpoint, guess there'll be some invisible dudes coming right up. Hey, a weapon with a scope. Sure can bet some enemies to snipe right around the corner. LAME.

You sound like Garnet Lee. ;) lol
And I still disagree.. There are all sorts of weapons laying all over the place, especially the further you are in the game. At least that was my experience. Your complaint comes up over and over again, though, in reviews and podcasts (particularly from 1UP).
I suspect the two-weapon limit is probably the cause of this. Maybe if they would have just left the weapon wheel in, people wouldn't even be noticing where ammo was being picked up.
And had they taken care to place weapons in all the wrong places, people would be complaining about that. Insomniac can't win here - I don't know why they bothered changing the formula that worked so well in Resistance: Fall of Man and the Ratchet & Clank Future games.
Maybe I noticed it less because I didn't look around for weapons that I don't favor. I stick with the Bullseye Mk II and the Carbine, for the most part, and the Auger when available, and I killed most every enemy with no problems with those guns.
Your other complaint was that you died a lot. I heard that a lot too. There were some cheap deaths near the beginning (the "lava", as Garnet would say, and the invisible guys) but once you begin to notice that the invisible guys made a specific noise, and could be seen slightly, it became second nature to look for that faint silhouette and just shoot. Then again, you shouldn't have died from those guys at all, since you knew they were coming on account of the shotguns being conveniently placed, right? ;)
I found R2 in normal difficulty to be a *lot* easier and shorter than Resistance: Fall of Man, and I played that in baby/sissy/pansy/easy mode. Probably has to do with the controls being vastly improved.
Aaaaanyhow. It's funny that you mentioned Haze. I actually had the thought when I was playing R2. The part with the scientist reminded me of "Skincoat" Marino for some reason... I wish they would have put more focus on the single-player game. It was a little disappointing to me, though I loved the ending.
Another game that reminds me of Haze is Mirror's Edge, because I liked the demos for both games, and yet the retail copies disppointed immensely. Mirror's Edge even moreso than Haze. But that's next week's topic. :)

Unfortunately Animal Crossing Wii does seem to be more of the same. I loved the Gamecube and DS games and I'm very disappointed that the Wii version has basically zero new content. That being said, I will probably own the game at some point. If I don't get it for Xmas this year, then I'll probably decide to buy it some time down the road. Just because it's the same game doesn't mean it's not a good game. Besides, my girlfriend (who hasn't played any AC before) may enjoy the game as well.
I'm going to help the TRS guys with Quantum of Solace.
Both of those flicks were a reboot of the series and it's the introduction of the new villain for the movies to come. Quantum is the new SPECTRE and they will be a force of evil in the world.
That's what these two movies were about and I believe they did a good job. I look forward to the next movie and I hope they don't pull out their new Blofeld to early.

Well, I did send Garnett an email after I listened to Yours saying that he pegged exactly my issue. I had "learn by dying" in my review notes before he used the exact same phrase on Yours. What can I say... great minds think alike. ;)

Once again, Jeff proves himself awesome with his opinions (I remember being one of the few to agree with you about Mass Effect last year). Couldn't agree more with what you said on QoS. I didn't really understand what Alex was trying to say though. Bond not being realistic enough? Had he not seen any of the 20 movies before CR? And even when you guys pointed that out (with the landing with perfect hair comment), he said he just disagrees?!
Not trying to argue with his opinion, as it's just that (and the "good not great" view is a pretty common one for QoS), but his reasoning doesn't really make sense.

There was nothing wrong with Jeff's comment; 'lip service' is a common phrase. It was Dan's "while you're lip servicing things" comment that set Alex off, and myself I must admit.

Ah, crap. I can never remember if there's two Ts in Garnett or just one, and I'm generally too lazy to look it up. No disrespect meant to him if he reads this (or if David reads this and tells on me).
I shouldn't forget now, though. I made a little rhyme out of it. "Two Ts in Garnett Lee!" There's also bells ringing at the end of that, but I don't know how to write bells in text.

I love the show but have to call out Alex, I know you have a BMW to pay for but, I am beginning to think that the white polo you wore in at least the last two episodes is your only shirt. At least jeff wears the Roloff shirt every other show. But I can't complain too much because cricket season appears to be over.

It's definitely a good discussion point. I had a nice chat to Dan about it and he's definitely on the other side of the fence (probably why he loved R2 so much), where he seems happy to learn a game through dying (e.g. Stuntman Ignition and Mirror's Edge).
Personally, I can take it in some games (I liked Stuntman), but sometimes it annoys me (Mirror's Edge demo).

Ha, I haven't been around in a while. Crazy times in Michigan!
Good time, as always, and I'd have to say you guys hit the nail on the head with Quantum of Solace. It was good, not bad, but not that great. I got my jazz with the comments over American Foreign Policy throught the movie, others may like it for other reasons. Either way, it sets up for another sequel that should be pretty interesting. We'll see what happens.
Gears 2?
Not that interested. I think I'm the only guy I know who is like that. I didn't care much for the first, so I'm decidedly "meh" on this one.

GEARS 2 SPOILERS!
One of the main characters is looking for his wife during this war and he eventually finds her and it's pretty disturbing because she is all emaciated and dying. She is actually converting in to some kind of locust animal thing so he has to kill her while she is lying in his arms.

Jeff's explanation of Groundhog Day games made me laugh, because that's EXACTLY what old school Mega Man games are, and I love them. Yet I don't think I don't think I can tolerate it as much in modern games for some reason. I guess it's easier to forgive as a staple of the past.
I'm currently playing Animal Crossing Wii, and sadly it's true, it's pretty much just a combination of the GameCube and DS versions (which themselves are just upgrades of the original N64 version released in Japan only). However, the online voice chat stuff is pretty fun, so I'd recommend it if you're new to the series, or if you're a Nintendo addict/sucker like I am.
Also, was Quantum of Solace's plot really incredibly confusing, or am I just terrible at following movies? I loved Casino Royale, but I honestly couldn't say what my opinion of Quantum was after walking out. The positive reviews made me want to watch it again and try to pay closer attention.
