ok, wait. it doesn't take place in a underground compound and it takes place at night? not much of a remake. plus, the zombies don't already exist at the beginning. looks like they just made a random zombie flick and called it Day of the Dead.

Ya, lame. Day of the Dead was ok, but the effects were reason alone to see it. If you havent checked it out definately do it. That scene when the body gets off the exam table and the guts fall out, its totally one of those howd they do that moments

this movie looks like the biggest piece of shit ever made into film. id rather watch Street Fighter multiple times and then follow it with House of the Dead then watch this.
heres my rant previously posted on my blog:
HOLY ****ING SHIT! i was getting so angry at this trailer and im at work i want to punch my monitor. This looks like complete and utter ****ing shit! shit! DO NOT, and i repeat DO NOT call this a Day of the Dead remake when from the looks of it, does not even take place in the ****ing BUNKER! Do not call this a DOTD remake when it seems like to have no relevence to Night or Dawn. Do not touch George's classic films and ruin them with your hollywoodized bullshit acting, and bullshit CGI special effects. I am an old school horror elitest fan, i believe in makeup, buckets of blood and camera angles to do your special effects with horror films, not this crap that hollywood tries to pull off now. Yes i know George used some CGI in Land but land kinda sucked too. I hate modern horror and this proves my point one more time.

who cares if it's gonna be shit...zombies! sure the cast blows, save for Ving. He's always is a bad ass. Plus there is another movie that seems to be a zombie movie Human Residue is the name.
Ving tries too hard. He just emanates "please accept me as the big mean black dude."
Now Wesley Snipes, there's a big mean black dude without exception!

yeah, this really doesn't look very good at all, but i'll watch it. Other than redheads, I think I've found my true weakness (cause the redheads have to be hot for me to like them...i just like 'em most): Zombie movies. Or even (and these people don't seem to be technically zombies unless they die THEN come back to life) movies with people turning on each other and shit hitting the fan on a large scale. *sigh* I'll watch this. I'm even kinda stoked. Evenif it looks like total crap and the zombies sound like you're playing the first Doom.

With or without zombies - this one looks like rotting corpses wont be the only stench ... then again I like the Resident Evil movies ... and they had undead AND were based on video games, two things almost guaranteed to make a movie to be sucktacular.

Even the scenes without the gore are awesome. That opening made me damn near leap off the sofa with a fairly girly yelp. I love all the crazy dialogue scenes with the soldiers getting progressively dumber and louder as the movie goes on. I haven't watched this trailer. I don't wanna. Day of the Dead was always my favourite. It's not the same story and it wouldn't be the same film without bub, the doctor and ESPECIALLY Joe mother****in' Pilato! That guy is some kinda genius.
"I'M RUNNIN' THIS MONKEY FARM NOW, FRANKENSTEIN!"
He's awesome. I don't think I've seen him in anything else, bar maybe the tiny role in Dawn, but he's one of my favourite actors just for Captain Rhodes alone. The guy who looks like Stone Cold Steve Austin was pretty funny, too.

Anyone else read the spoiler that the actor who plays Bub posted?
********************Spoiler*********************** ***
"I have a fantastic part in this one. I am a nervous, vegetarian private who is sweet on Mena's character from the beginning. I've never seen combat before, but as soon as people start changing I get to kick some serious zombie ass. About halfway through the film, I am bitten on the wrist, and after pouring bleach on the wound in an attempt to clean it, Mena handcuffs me to the backseat of the Hummer we are traveling in, in case I change. When she and Nick return from the gun store they are looting, I have become a zombie, but they notice that I'm not trying to eat them (I have the distinction of being the first ever vegetarian zombie), so they keep me around."
He goes on to say "I'm off to go watch the original Day of the Dead up in my room now, so I can see what exactly we are re-making."

They've made Bub a stinky human? You watch, he'll just be ending a phone call with his Aunt Elisha when they introduce him and Joe Pilato will be on TV in the background advertising Monkey Farming Weekly magazine or some such crap. I liked Dawn quite a bit but those TV segments bothered me. They felt shoved in to appease the fans.
