I only watch this show to ogle Snubs. Most of the time the content is really dry so I lose interest.

Oh give me a break, I didn't say anything bad. More making an observation about the show. It really is far from engaging, when they start talking about some software they are using it is usually just a conversation amongst themselves and I find myself easily losing interest.
edit: I should point out that this is even with topics that I should be very interested in like the vmware thing they did recently.

Are you saying we should approach segments with a more linear how-to approach than a free flow conversation? Because personally I find that step 1 step 2 stuff to be dreadfully dry and lacking personality.

More interaction I think, it seems to me it is like "This is this software" *back and forth conversation Bob Villa style asking simple questions* Then some hard to read screen grabs (that might get better when you guys finally get into HD). Its almost like reading the manual that comes with the software.
I think I would like to see more focus on "this is what you can do with it" with working examples. I think this would make people more interested to begin with and they might search out how to get it up and running on their own.
Maybe that's not what your show is about in which case keep doing what you do.

I do too...
Way back in middle school, I was one of those completely unpopular, dorky kids with big glasses and braces. I was called a dork and a nerd and a geek all the time. It hurt my feelings back then, but I kinda embraced it in high school. I found that group of friends who watch anime, read comics and sci-fi novels, and play video games just like I do. So thats a little about me :P

I retract my statement. You are a geek Snubs. Just a different type than myself :) I guess it was the episode where the guys all congratulated you on finally entering the world of IT, coupled with the fact that they never give you any good segments.
Tell the boys to give you a real segment!

Humm, smalltalking about applications make it more fun then.
1: Open the application
2: write <value> in <textbo> and press <button>
3: wait for <data> to get listed in <this box>.
I mean who would ever wanna hear a hacker/cracker/skiddie talk about nmap like that? seriously?
I must admit that the Hak5 crew doesn't play well with the whole "acting" kinda thing or talk like a news reporter does. But who gives a flying monkey really? Enjoy the topics and the witty nerdy comments instead :)
Edit: I just read the whole snubs thing. Way to go geekyness ;D
Wonder what the definition of geek is? Some say i'm not a geek just because i make programs on a daily basis and spend 12h day in front of a PC :/

haha, I have also wondered how to define a geek. I'm sure theres some exact definetion in some dictionary... but it's kinda like, tryin to say who's an actor or not. I act, does that make me an actress? Cuz so does Tina Fey, and she's an actress, but far above my level of expertise.

I think we kinda get the best of both worlds with this show. The tech stuff is great and Snubs is pretty hot, she kinda reminds me of an ex-girlfriend. Also, I think Snubs is a semi-geek. She likes all the tech stuff and knows some of it but she's not as proficient in it as the guys. Either way, it's all good ;)

I had thousands of lines of code back when I was 7, but that's merely because I was coding in basic and used a lot of GOTOs ;)

lol the fact she can hang with the guys and keep up makes her a geek...
i think u guys are confused geeks are smart w/ social lives, dorks are semi tech savy and usually good looking, and nerds... nerds are the l33t haxors of the interwebs.
someone should write a book and call it "Geeks, Dorks, Nerds, & Everything In Between"
ok gotta stop posting my supervisor is a yellin at meee:cool:

Agreed! Personally I think the current format is perfect. Step 1, Step 2 feels too much like a lecture, and I've slept through enough of those. :P

I read somewhere about the difference between a geek and a nerd once. A nerd is generally defined as someone who learns as much as they can about as many things as they can, usually of a purely intellectual nature, often making themselves defined as loners in the process. A geek is someone who is driven to learn as much as they possibly can about one thing that is their passion, whatever that may be, intellectual or otherwise and often something not considered mainstream. And geeks still know how to party.
