I'm behind it. They have every reason to strike.

Don't forget, though, that both Jeff and Alex are members of SAG, and doing TRS might be considered "crossing the picket line," especially since compensation for digital distribution is a key point of contention with the AMPTP.

good point, will we get TRS eps if there's a strike? We might be left with only podcasts from non-SAG members, or podcasts that are not making any money.

What ever happened to the good old days when teachers went on strikes instead of keystones of entertainment (writers, NHL, actors)..

I believe Jeff said a few months ago that TRS may be interrupted if SAG strikes, so we'll get the Totally Dan Show, since he's not a SAG member.

Ok is there a base pay thing or some other thing this union does for the actors? I'm sure they don't want to get screwed but can't the actors get a contract negotiated to their liking? I'm sure I hear someone yelling "studio days" where the studios dictated the terms but those are long over. Big names get big paychecks and vice-versa.

Anyway as long as Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Lopez, and Hayden Christensen are in SAG they have no credibility in my eyes.

I would presume TRS wouldn't be interrupted, I mean Dr. Horrible was a means around the writers strike, and I have no doubt Joss Whedon is in the Writers Guild. Or I guess we could just wait around for Jeff to reply. Ya' got any answers for us!

What if TRS released episodes unsponsored? Does that make a difference?

Maybe Jeff and Alex could film the show and Dan and Steve could host.

It's why the writers striked, and it's why SAG may end up striking.

Regardless, I think Hollywood has learned their lesson. The strike won't last as long as the WGA strike if it happens.

Ok you say not Rev3 then I don't see why Alex and Jeff couldn't do the show. Unless there's others that are anal about some rule.

Lets see it's bad when a business has a monopoly but it's okay for a union to control all the labor? I believe it's just as evil as any corporation to have total control over the production of a product. Perhaps it's time to change that maybe there's more talent out there that is held back from wide audience by just such an org as SAG. So we're going to see shows grind to a halt and the audiences will fall along with the revenue. There will be cuts across the board that will go beyond just a pompous actors entourage. I wonder how much does SAG get in dues and is it tied to the amount of money made by the actor or a flat fee? (link (http://www.entertainmentcareers.net/acting/sagmembership.asp)) I see here it is based on a percentage of the earnings of a given year so it is entirely self-serving for them to see more money is made by actor so more can be given to the union. How convenient for them, if it was a flat fee it would be the better of the person but it's a percentage so it's better for the union and the union bosses.

Wow, I wish I could earn a percentage of Brat Pitt's take home, I would retire. Hell if you're making 200,000 you pay 1.85% which is 3700 (200k x .0185=3700) but if you're making 500,000 you pay .05% which is 2500 (500k x .005 = 2500). Nice, since I'm sure there's a hell of a lot more actors under 200k than near the 500k mark. BTW, the two categories listed are up to 200k and 200,001 to 500k, so make sure to ask for that 1 buck otherwise you're going to get screwed blind on dues.
