I bought a used thin client for five bucks that will fit in my pocket. It is great for testing monitors to see if they at least work (to you see if you get the thin client boot up screen). I visit a lot of thrift shops to get cheap used equipment and it is a big help for that to quickly test possible purchases. I also use it to see whether a monitor or video card is at fault when nothing comes up up a monitor. A second computer to test the monitor is not always availble when at a client site.
