So, I've been in Afghanistan for a few months now, and if I wanted to be mellow dramatic, I guess I could say my gaming life went down the drain ever since I left. No PS2, no PC (my laptop's videocard is messed up), but thankfully...
I brought my DS Lite. Now, I was a big sega fan back when I was a kid, and solely bought the DS Lite during its USA launch date because I wanted to play "Brain Age".
This country is really depressing. Often, the generator will break, and there's no electricity for god knows how long. If electricity does work, raining on the satellite dish means forget about watching TV. Or try even to watch a DVD, but thanks to the stability of the electricity, screen goes blank or flickers.
Let's just say it's just a bunch of annoying little things which add up, and ruins my entertainment.
After a typical day of teaching french at the highschool, I like to jump on my DS, and play whichever game I have not finished yet. Nintendo has created a wonderful product. It charges fast, and it lasts a long time if you don't put the brightness up all the way.
I may be 7000 miles away, but I'm playing Advance Wars DS, Brain Age, and Mario Kart as if I was home.
So thanks Nintendo!
ps. start selling DS games in Afghanistan! haha
