December 7, 2008 - This week, we talk about a book that either makes a lot of sense for Ron to pick, or no sense at all. Plus, we get into an Almost Famous mood. Please accept our apologies.

HOT DAMN! Lateness made up for with ATCQ! Queens stand up!

By the way, I don't think that scene was meant to imply that Bullseye or the Hood gave a shit abut the Wasp but rather that both the heroes and villians would be pissed that the Skrulls were using someone on their side to attack them.

I was just about to make a similar post. Tribe FTW.

The only other rap intro music I can remember off the top of my head is MC Chris, so this is somewhat redeeming…

I concur.

I was dancing to a great song then these three dudes started talking---much like Temptation a few weeks ago.

I used De La Soul once, and I'm fairly certain I've used Wu Tang at least once. I don't have a lot of rap in the library, but The Low End Theory is one of my favorite albums ever, and easily my favorite hip hop album.

I've also definitely used Handsome Boy Modeling School once.

Hmm. I'd think I would remember Handsome Boy being played.

Anyway, great episode. I completely agree with just about everything said about Secret Invasion. Beyond all problems you talked about, it was still just a big fight scene and Skrulls didn't really effect anything. Osborn could have worked towards this anyway, killing the Queen simply sped it up. All the "He Loves You" stuff was never really discussed besides a throw away "He is God" line. They made a big deal about this being a small religious faction of the Skrulls, I was hoping a different faction would come and fight alongside the heroes of Earth. We've had heroes fighting heroes for years now, it's time for Skrulls fighting Skrulls.

I haven't read it since it was coming out, but I enjoyed House of M quite a bit.

Yeah the Skrull Queen and her army was just a small faction of religious nuts right?

So what about the Skrull king? I mean the (now I gotta say good) Illuminati went in guns a blazing and destroied a lot of their planet....it was the King that wanted to get revenge in the first place. So what the fuck happen to him?

Here's something else that really bothered me about SI: Why wasnt Luke Cage more of a factor here? Other then the New Avengers issue this week, he has barely made an impact to this story. I would imagine Bendis, who made Cage less of a joke now and more of a competant leader, wanted to do something with the guy....but couldnt think of anything. Here's a character who has been upgraded to a A-level superhero and all he was good for was being dumber then Ares (issue 2). Plus, it was a misdirection that JJ, Luke, and the baby werent Skrulls? How the hell is that any good? You just dont end a fucking issue with the baby's eyes during green (in New Avengers) and just say it's a misdirection. I could think of a lot more Bendis did in the prelude to SI that did not pan out what so ever in this event.

I think the baby HAS to be a Skrull. Whenever they get her back, they can't ignore that. If they do, that's really, really shitty.

I actually was hoping for my Immortal Iron Fist quote on their trade;
