Personally I think that Dan, Jeff and Alex were far too hasty in dismissing season 3 and everyone who I've spoken to who enjoyed it up until season 3 is loving it so far.
Thoughts?

I watch the show every week but have no clue why. I'm sick of the "I have powers I have no powers, I'm good, no now I'm bad, no wait i'm good again. We need more people like us, no we don't. I'm a hero ORly? i'm a villian!" There are more flip-flops in this show then on the beach during spring break.

I agree on the power/no powers. Not so much on the good/evil. I think a lot of people want to watch and draw a clear line of he's good, and he's evil. Period, they fight. that's it. But honestly, that's not the case, even in real life. Some people join evil things to do good. Should we not forget Season 1 bomb? This season Angela and the Company don't look that evil. I don't think Nathan is really evil, just wants to get things done and sees a way of doing it with his dad's plan. Is Peter good? We only know he is fighting his dad because of the future he saw, which he thinks comes from his dad's plan.

The writers just need to keep it simple. Instead of trying introduce new powers and random people who are only there for one episode they need to focus on one character and have all the other characters exist in that world. It's like they sit in the writers room, come up with a cool power and then try and build a story around it. For example, the guy who could create black holes...why would they introduce a character with a new power and then kill him off in one episode? I hope the new writer who used to be on Pushing Daisies can breath some new life in this incredibly chaotic mess.

Heroes season 2 was pretty iffy. But the Writers' Strike was a good cop out for that. Season 3 has been terrible. I don't need anyone to be a definitively good or bad person, but I think actually keeping the character's decisions and actions are in line with the decisions and actions they've made previously. All of the character act OUT of character constantly. They suddenly change and that's a problem.
Heroes is a great idea but is being executed poorly. Season 1 was pretty good and had potential to turn into something great, but it hasn't.

I absolutely agree, what I want to see is the writers show who the 3-4 main characters are (appears to be Peter, Hiro, Claire, and Sylar), and have everyone else as support for them. If they want to divide them, show two clear sides (not necessarily good-evil) and keep switching to a minimum so it is a surprise/entertaining when it happens.
Heroes has potential, that's the only reason I'm watching it, that and I'm not really interested in anything else on Monday nights.

They give Hiro/Peter, two of the best characters the worst story lines ever. Cant we just see them kick major ass every week instead of losing their powers/being stuck in a place they dont know/having their memory altered?

Hmmm. Can't say I really agree with any of you, but each to their own.
What I find interesting is that so far only people who didn't/don't like it at the moment have commented.

It started off poor which I blame on them having to clean up last seasons mess.
It got steadily better.
Still has some problems, but I think it's more than offset by some really great stuff they've done overall this season.

Highly recommend Chuck. I tune in for Chuck and stay for Heroes. I got into Chuck from catching some of it before Heroes. Now Chuck is the reason I even watch TV on Mondays.
I think the guys may have dismissed it kind of early, but following them on Twitter I saw around they stopped. I can't blame them. There were ups and then fell heavy. Came back again and went back under. This show is being dragged in so many directions that I don't know what's up anymore.
Also, noticed some points made about Mirror's Edge that I think applies to Heroes. Mirror's Edge we're only led to believe the main characters are good and everything else is bad. Peter is trying to prevent a future where people have powers. They didn't really show how it's such a horrible future. I don't remember seeing people fighting or any disasters. No reason, examples, just told. I would've liked to have seen a little more future to know what the risk of everything was.

I can't say that I've seen all the episodes because I stopped watching after like the 3rd or 4th episode of Season 3. Anyway, the main reason I stopped watching is because I don't care about any of the characters. They are all annoying and they do nothing to make me care about them. If I care about the characters I'll sit through some crappy storylines.
Another thing is its practically the same plot every season. Someone from the future comes to the past to "save the world". Maybe its changed but that's what I got out of it from those few episodes I did watch.
On a side note, I've pretty much hated Heroes ever since the season finale of Season 1. I absolutely hated how they built it up all season that they would have to work together to defeat Sylar. Then at then end Peter pretty much says.."No I'll handle this." and everyone just kind of stood there and watched.

I have been a huge fan of heroes, Loved both the first and second seasons but as of 3 weeks ago i no longer watch heroes. I'm not quite sure why but i just lost interest in it, it just feels like a different show.

Unless Chuck gets moved from its 8:00 pm time slot I can't watch it, House is being moved to 8:00 pm Mondays in Jan. and that is my must see show along with Lost, I can't miss those 2, ever.
Hiro saw a tsunami destroy a major city, and I believe that resulted from Sylar exploding in the future, which was a result of Claire trying to kill Peter which is because she switched sides and works with Nathan in the future, and as we now know Nathan wants people to have powers. After saying all that, WTF are the writers thinking?

Heroes should have been a one season show.

I still like the show but the writers need to make up their minds on characters and watch out for plot holes, which there have been many.

The show never really gave any reasons to stay. I would've left if I had something else to look forward to on Monday nights. Even though I liked the last episode, I still don't think there's reason for them to come back. It might just be a fluke.

i'm loving this season. I think the show got better once they brough in Arthur. Can't wait for the last episode of the year. Interesting to see what happens once the episodes that evolved Loeb are done and we get to the new writers.

I'm enjoying season 3, it started poorly but has improved. However, matsie's point above is the biggest issue I have with this season. Too many of the characters are acting in an inconsistent manner. Their behaviours appear to have been changed simply to "mix things up" and none of it is believable. However, I read a great article today that hopefully indicates the writers know what's going wrong and are taking steps to address the problems:

Great article with good insight. I agree the face has been taken off of the drama. Although I do think that they are redeeming themselves lately. Hero stuck in time is a pretty cool idea.
