It’s hard to say this but officially, I will be leaving the title after JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #26, which is a single-issue story entitled “BLACK ADAM RUINED MY BIRTHDAY.” Following the Black Adam arc with Jerry and I, #26 will be my last issue, Dale’s last and our fantastic editor Michael Siglain’s last. I think we’re going out on one of my favorite stories to date and I’m glad we are all going out on this together.

To say I'm bummed about this news is an understatement. Honestly only skimmed the article, but don't see anything about who the new team will be.

This does make it sound like Johns will be writing the Flash on a regular basis post-Rebirth which has me excited as hell though.

This does suck, but I have to admit of all Geoff's books, JSA has been a bit lackluster lately (compared to the previous years). Who do you guys think is a good fit to take over JSA? Can't say I have a writer on the top of my head that can do a team book well... especially a team this big.

Well thats it for the JSA. They had a good run, there is no one else that can handle it.

I'm hoping for Tomasi

I'm not sure about that, Tomasi is doing an admirable job handling a big group of characters with GLC

I really cant believe he's been on the book since 1999. I just hope they don't put some schmuck on it and have the book be canceled in a year.

I don't see why not, it's shaping up to wrap up nicely next issue.

Then there's 4 more Johns issues of who knows what, ending with a Black Adam one and done it sounds like.

MOTHER BITCHES!!

At least i can replace this book with the Flash, which I've been wanting to read for a while since it turned to poo.

This book will be sorely missed, I don't see anyone being able to fill the shoes on the follow up. i mean look at Booster Gold since he's left, just not the same.

me = sad
Oh well, in a way this is good. I can only purchase so much Johns content per month. If he just kept on adding books without making replacements, it could have soon got ugly.

I actually really liked Dixon and Remender's runs on BG. Sure it's not the same but I wouldn't say it was worse.

I didn't mean that it's worse, it's just not the same. Like when they replaced Becky on Roseanne.

Honestly, overall the quality has been there since the relaunch, but I really haven't given much of a good goddamn about the books in six months or so. Between it being somewhat sporadic, and basically having nothing but Gog walking for what, five issues now? and then random Earth 2 bullshit with Power Girl that always makes me groan... it's probably better now to get out with a wrap to this storyline and a badass Black Adam story like it looks. It's been a good ride, but I dunno, it's just left me cold since there's really nothing going on with that massive cast he just had to have, half the characters seem redundant. Maybe he's just out of stories to tell with them, it has been almost 10 years for god's sakes. I dunno. Just another book for me to drop, unless Tomasi takes over because I think he can work a title like that really well...

This is the worst news I heard all year in comics.

JSA = dropped.

World = less bright.

sure these are big shoes to fill, and chances are this will result in a drop in quality on this title. Unlike most of you I have been loving this run consistently since its inception (Justice Society, I unfortunately wasn't reading JSA). But right now I'm more interested to see what Geoff Johns does from here. Personally I'm hoping for Detective (i'm kind of over Dini for now), or Batman if Morrison leaves soon.

Or if the new team on Green Arrow/BC sucks, I'd love to see Johns start up on that book.

Batman is a character Johns has historically written terribly.

Of course it's not the same. Sure it's comforting to have the same old people running the same old stuff but change is good, change is necessary. This is ESPECIALLY true when quality doesn't drop, as was the case (in my mind) with Booster Gold.

Now that I've slept on it, I'm more excited than sad. I want to see what kind of new and fun stuff Johns does next with other characters and what new directions some new/fresh (and hopefully talented) blood will take JSA.

Of course if Loeb takes over I'm not going to be excited for very long.

Curiously, I'd actually kinda like to see Judd Winick on it now that he's not doing GA/BC. This really makes me sad...especially now that this has become my go to book every month...

Only people named Geoff Johns, James Robinson or David Goyer should write JSA.

Oh you're right, we should just cancel it instead of giving someone else a chance to shine.

I fear change, Gobo.

*In Frankenstein voice* CHANGE BAD!

I like the idea of Tomasi taking over on JSA. He's a writer that has clicked with me on Nightwing and I keep thinking of getting GL Corp because he writes it, but when I add new titles that are ongoings I really need to sit down and make sure I have the space, time, effort, and finally money to add it.
