This show has got me interested in really learning some more cool stuff, street magic-y and whatnot. I'd like to learn how to make things disappear into thin air (supposedly) and all kinds of other stuff that you need setups and things for that Brian can't really show. Anyone know any websites or specific things like books maybe (I like to get things at Amazon, have a Prime membership). Looking to add more and more tricks to my repertoire, it's actually going to be part of my new years resolution to. So, yea, thoughts? Recommendations?

Yeah, it's interesting: we've stuck to the "no gimmicks required" rule so far in scam school, but I wonder how long that can last. Would you guys feel ripped off if we did a killer routine, and then revealed that the trick required a $10 gimmick you could find in a magic shop?

As long as there's a balance between the two. Posting a link on the forums to where you can get ahold of the resources would be a good idea in that case.

That's tough... I think part of the magic (no pun intended) behind scam school is that you don't need anything special, yet at the same time I'd love to see those kind of tricks. Only one solution. Brian, you need a second show!

I think it would be acceptable if the gimmick was something that could be found around the house or that could be made with something around the house in a short period of time.

They have dvd's on how to perform various tricks. Can get pretty pricey for some gimmicks. Their forum has great information on what books to get to learn magic of various types (cards, coin, mental, etc.). Some of the basic card tricks have been performed on scam school, which goes to show how awesome this show is!

Keep the scams coming!

If you do end up having to go that route, maybe try to get a sponsorship deal with one of the magic websites, so we have a coupon code to use on said gimmick. However, I still prefer the gimmick free tricks.

I'd stay free from the gimmicks.
Scam school (from what I gather) is social enineering at the bar and on the streets, if there are some gimmicks you can fashion out of items found at a bar I would be down with that, but I would hate to see the show become an infomercial for magic sites...how long until the shamwow guy shows up plugging, magicgimicks.com???

So long as the "gimmicks" can keep it along those lines I wouldn't mind. The day that every card in your deck is the ace of spades or something is the day I kind of stop caring.
