In this power packed episode Chris explores ways to securely communicate using public key authentication. Matt gives us a healthy helping of Drive Backup utilities. Darren interviews Ashley Schwartau about the documentary Hackers Are People Too. Shannon brings you a few tools for organizing that mismatched MP3 collection of yours.

Shannon was pretty funny and seemed very relaxed - great. BTW: kudos for A Perfect Circle ;)
I'm managing around 5000 tracks with banshee - most of it very cleaned up and tagged.

as you can tell i use Winamp, which i use to rip my cd's
and as far as other tags that need to be edited i use Media Monkey (http://www.mediamonkey.com/)

if you use openssh-server on linux, be sure to disable root access in /etc/ssh/sshd_config and change the port number also.

With all the catching up on work in between the holidays crap, which I can very much relate to you guys on, I just watched this episode. Another good one. And it looked like all of you had fun making it...although Chris probably would have been happier without the bubonic plague :)
And I never thought of using boobies to set the white balance. I'll have to give that one a try.

I've been going through all the episodes so ya, I'm posting on one that is fairly old... but...
Woot!! A Sailor Moon fan! :)
ok, that out of the way, for my mp3 collection I use dMC or dBPoweramp's Music Converter. Due to mp3 licensing and stuff you do have to pay to be able to rip your own purchased cds. and for playback (I know a little off topic) I use us dBPoweramp, an older player by the Illustrate team (yes, as you can se, both dMC and dbPoweramp are from the same team). Within the player there is a music collection sub program that you can view all your tracks (be it in a playlist, or everything you have on the hard drive) and edit the tags. This older version of dBPlayer can also play cds and pull the tracks from the CDDB database. Unfortunately (imho) the gui version is no longer made and the guy(s) at Illustrate now put there efforts towards a music server which is still cool. The short of all this is I manually edit each individual track and do the google to find what album a song came from (If I don't already know it).
A little long winded for such a short answer, but hey, dBPoweramp is sweet, and thank god I saved my fav skin for it since it's no longer out there.
As for my collection, it's huge, and whenever possible, I use FLAC instead of MP3, so it's also huge in size as it is in number.
