I want iptv

I would like to watch these videos on my TV from the comfort of my couch. I know you can stream these video to your 360 however I have no need or desire to run Windows MCE. Is there a hack? Not looking for something to cheat on games or anything, just to stream content from my PC running XP pro or Vista to my 360 then to my TV. Is there anything? Please advise.

With the fall update to the 360 you no longer need Media Center Edition in order to stream video.

The "easiest" and most time consuming way to put Revision 3 on your TV is to burn a Video DVD. This requires no special equipment or wireing. However, it often takes time to transcode the video for DVD. A DVD player that with a DiVX or XVID codec would not require the lengthy transcoding step.

Another option it to use your TV and an extra display for your PC. This is not hard, but it does require that th TV and video adapter have compatible connections. My TV has the customary RGB connector and many video cards have DVI or S-video connectors as well. However, it does require that your PC be within a few feet of the TV.

A third option dedicated set-top box to play video on the TV. A home-built or pre-built multimedia center PC is the best solution but can be pricey.

A TiVo series 2 with a wireless or wired network adapter is a less expensive option. However, it requires a TiVo subscription and the video has to be transcoded into TiVo ready MPEG 2.

Oddly enough, my HD TV has a usb socket that recognizes USB drives. It already displays JPEGS and plays MP3. I'm wondering how long it's be before TV's come with built in Multimedia decoders. The trouble is the multiple video formats that compete for attention.

Oh and also heres what I do:

Put the video on my iPod and plug it into this little TV adapter that I have.
Very simple you can probably find one at Best Buy or something near all of the iPod peripherals...now if you don't have an iPod Video this wouldn't really help you.

I got one of these and hooked my iPod up to my TV. This is the easiest way IMO.

I just use XP on my living room PC, and pump up the fonts and Icons so i can read them.

also use Media Player Classic and the KLite codecs pack.

just a matter of a double click and i can watch all the formats on my TV in full screen.

I just plug my laptop into the TV via S-video.

I am really glad that someone brought this up...as I was going to ask this very same question.

I also do this. But then I stopped and just watched it on the monitor. Same thing. the quality of the videos really aren't hidef anyway.

Well, I guess some pixelperfect ones are, but still. No explosions n stuff.

I use a method similar to the cable, except I do it with an ipod dock. Ya got remote functionality that way if you have one of the newer docks.

or you could just mod a xbox, 70-90 for xbox, 25-50 for chip, then you can stream anything through xbmc and play roms on your xbox. forgot iptv, this does all codecs and is easy to do. im just saying this is the best way to do what you want to do.

When you mod an xbox doesn't a kitten get eaten or something? No, wait, it voids your warranty. Besides modding is such a difficult task for the lazy.

ahh warranty yes, but if all is done right no need for it, besides the payoff in the end is worth the risk. besides xbox's are cheap right now, so wouldn't be that bad.

I have a DVD player that plays DivX/Xvid, so I just burn the file to a CD-RW. It's a bit slow when I only have 4x CD writing (cheap CD's and crappy burner), but I just leave it while I do some homework or something.
