Here's a juicy story right now:
From Newsarama.com-
A new Wolverine ongoing title is going to be released in April 2009! Now before you all groan, there is something really good about this. Jason Aaron and Ron Garney, who brought us Wolverine: Get Mystique! storyline last year, will be the offical team of the book. This new comic, entitled Wolverine: Weapon X, will be released a little bit before the big Wolverine film that will be out in May 2009.
Thoughts?

Does this make it four monthly's now?
Wolverine
Wolverine Origins
Wolverine: First Class
Wolverine: Weapon X
Plus the ton's of one-shot's.
Do people really like Wolverine that much?

I bet Aaron and Garney were originally just going to come back to be the regular team for the "Wolverine" proper book, but Marvel figured they could probably get a couple years worth of a secondary ongoing before Millar/McNiven put out the last few issues of "Old Man Logan."
Zing!

You know you might not be far off from that. The next 'Old Man Logan' issue is supposeitely out next week. But then (at least the website I check) there isnt going to be another issue of Wolverine for a good 2-3 months. I went all the way up to March on this site and there are no listings for the title what so ever...Let's hope that is not the case and it was a bad website I went to.

Kind of bummed Aaron isn't going to be on the regular Wolverine book, but honestly as long as he is writing Scalped I don't care.

I'm thinking they want a new number 1 to coincide with the movie, much as they did with 'Invincible Iron Man.' It's not a bad idea, but I would as soon they dumped 'Wolverine: Origins,' which I've never heard a good word about.
The best current 'Wolverine' writer, for my money, is Fred Van Lente on 'First Class.' Nothing against this creative team, which did an entertaining story in 'Get Mystique.' Just, for my personal tastes, it wasn't my favorite take on the character.

Hey Conor....I didnt ment for this to be a full on Wolvie thread, this was a news thread. I was just about to post a report on Archie changing it's management but now I cant cause this got changed...*sigh*
I cant decide if Get Mystique or Joker's Asylum: Penguin was my first full exposure to Jason Aaron....But both made me love him as a writer and he is a natural for Wolverine.
