Clearly anyone reading the forums doesn't need to be convinced that Brian is a fantastic performer and definitely worth booking. The trick for us in the know is spreading the good word to the uninitiated. For example, I happen to be on staff at a university not far from SIU-E, (Brian's Feb 6th show). Now MAYBE on this short notice I can get in touch with the folks who could make something happen, but the trick is convincing them.
So, I wonder, how would you guys "sell" his act to the folks in charge? What stories would you tell? What favorite clips would you show? Does the Scam Master General have promo material for just this thing? Oh, and Brian, hit me back a PM if you can squeeze in a gig on 2/5. :)
P.S. Brian, do you know yet if the Edwardsville show will be open to the public?
I think the clips from the diggnation show, his routine before the cell phone ghost part, would be a good sampling of The Shwood.

I'm definitely free on 2/5, and can discount the show if they really are nearby SIUE (it's worth the discount for me just to avoid another flight).
If you only have a couple of minutes to convince them, I usually point people to the 3-minute demo reel (it's all TV highlights right now. Haven't updated it since I started doing scam school):

There's also a bunch of promotional stuff on the website here:

including this booklet of the show literature (http://www.shwood.com/booklet1.html) (which is looking a little dated to me, now.)
But I agree: the live show is very similar to the digg NYC event (though maybe a little more polished), so if you can get them to watch that and enjoy it, you're on track.
...and for the record: I love doing all the online stuff, but my day job is still to tour and perform live shows... so I'm always interested in helping anyone who wants to book the show. :)

I was very proud of that choice of words, it had a ring to it. So I've e-mailed the activities folks and I'm really hoping I can catch the ear(s) of a few people who take a liking to the videos.

Having been at the NYC Diggnation show and two of Brian's other shows, I can attest that the Diggnation show was indeed very similar. It was a bit shorter since there are other tricks that weren't done in NYC. The main difference I saw was that the Diggnation show had many more screaming and/or drunk fans. :)
When you consider that everyone was there to see Kevin and Alex, you did one hell of a job keeping the masses entertained and winning over new fans (including yours truly) in the process. If I was up there, I'd have gotten booed off stage by early-to-mid 20's males demanding to see their idols. ...kinda like going on before The Beatles.
