Ive searched around and cant find any threads similar.
Been following diggnation since episode 3, and been following Kevin Rose since old skool theBr0ken days.
I recently (recently being today) decided to sign up to the forums and start posting because rev3 is an amazing place full of amazing people (both the shows presenters and the fans).
I decided to check out some of the "hak5 swag" talked about enchusiastically by Darren and Matt on hak5, and then remembered how much iw anted a diggnation shirt, so i navigated my way over to the diggnation section of the store and thought the prices were really reasonable. SO i added to my basket.
See attached image as the result of my rantage.
The shirt costs 2/3 of the shipping charge!
I dont want to accuse rev3 of being ill informed, but no way in hell does it cost that much to post a medium sized shirt internationally. nuh huh.
Ive ordered plenty of shirts and hoodies from the US and canada, and themost ive been charged is approx 10 USD.
It just seems like Rev3 is putting off a lot of international buyers with these insane prices.
I really wanted a shirt but i am not paying over 50 USD for it. Thats over 30 GBP in total for a shirt...
Out of curiousity i went to my local post office with a shirt (a pretty large one) and asked hwo much it'd cost to ship to richmond virginia (i didnt know where rev3 was based so i went with where hak5 is), and it came to approx 4 GBP, which is 10 USD approximately. (That was first class airmail by the way)
Is revision 3 planning on revising these prices? Or am i doomed to spend my wages on shipping charges rather than actual items?...

Dude, try living in Alaska. Shipping costs almost the same as the item in many cases.

That quote was USPS international express mail, that's much more that 1st class. It gaurantees overnight delivery from San Francisco to GB. This is the standard USPS rate for such services, Revision3 does not have any control over the rates charged by the United States Postal service for premium services. Was this is only shipping option?

Dude. Check out the screenshot.
The shipping is almost DOUBLE the cost of the shirt =P
Yep. That was the only shipping option.

Oi, Kevin. Any chance of any other shipping options? :p
I waited almost a 3 weeks for my hak5 stickers, and that shipping was cheap as hell. Im prepared to wait that long for my swag :p
I dont feel like getting out a loan every time i want a sweet-ass shirt.

Great Britain is Zone 3. The cost of shipping is usually $38.95. You're getting a bargain.

Dude... that's outrageous. I'd rather buy a friggin' plane ticket,
go down in person, get my gear and bring it back with me.
At least then I get a vacation and can justify the added
coin spent brining back my swag. I agree these people
in the shipping biz got us over a friggin' barrel lately.
Not like they had to train a carrier pigeon...

A non-express option would be nice for those who don't have to wear the short tomorrow...

exactly especially since even fast shipping is going to be slower than normal due to the holidays
not everything requires near instandt gratification

International shipping is a joke, but internal (US - lower 48) is pretty good.

Oh, you're a southerner... that's why. Figures.
Do you know what they pay on the east coast?
Places like DC, NYC, around MIT, try as low as $1.49
So you're paying almost double, yeah, that's fair.
Not.

Not.Yeah. I've never driven across the US, but Canada has ridiculously varying gas prices.

Yeah we only ship stickers on Mondays. Partly due to the fact that I can't stand going to the post office :p .. You can ship just about anything under an ounce around the world for 94 cents, but it'll take it's damn time.

There should be a distributor in Europe that could ship Revivion3 products to European customers. I wonder if there are co's that do that? As in, a US company could ship products over there en masse and then let that local distribution co. handle the shipping. The local distribution company could not only have one client, as in Rev3, but many others also.

Yes there are. Don't really need to ship the products to Europe first, just the designs, and have them printed over there. I've used U2 to do mine before, they have their own merchandise company which Larry, the drummer actually runs. I bought that bazillionaire 2 vodka/oranges in a hotel in Dublin once, when having a merchandise meeting.
To fans wanting Rev3 gear, I'd wait until they figger out what they are doing, right now, you're just being insulted.

I wanted to order a friend a girl's Diggnation tee. I got mine over a year ago and it was no more than $10USD. I'm in Canada, that's not too bad, about average. In the new store it will cost $30USD. The shirt is ~12USD. What the hell is that? I'm not purchasing the shirt. I'm going to eBay. I've emailed Rev3 and have gotten no response. They've lost my sale and any future sales (i.e. the new shirt I want for myself).

City link (http://www.city-link.com/) are awesome in the UK, Rev3 should use them, I think they do international also.

So have they fixed the incredible expensive shipping yet?

No not yet... I just tried putting the diggnation stickers in my cart and it told me it cost $30 for shipping.
It needs to be fixed, they should just use the Jinx store if you ask me. TRS still uses it and I just got their hoodie from Jinx, along with 2 t-shirts and some other bits... shipping cost me around $20. A lot better than the Rev3 store unfortunately.

Is there something wrong here? Why do they only ship to three countries in Europe? This is absurd! I want my Rev3 gear!

Um, did you guys happen to notice that EXPRESS shipping was selected? Shipping a single piece of paper within the US is about $14. If you're trying to get something shipped expedited, you can fully expect to pay at least $30. I'm surprised it's not more.
I doubt they will ship anything in a regular paper envelope. If they're smart, they'd use a rigid envelope.
http://ircalc.usps.gov/IntlMailServices.aspx?Country=10142&M=11&P=0&O=1&sd=1
usps.gov is out postal service. Express mail to the UK is $27.95 for expedited shipping for one single ounce of weight. So this would mean $4 for handling if that envelope and sticker didn't weight more that one ounce. $4 is reasonable for handling. But chances that express mail envelope itself is about an ounce.
How much the post office charges is out of the hands of the Rev3 guys. We all have to pay the prices the post office demands, and rates go up so often it's hard to keep track of how much things cost.
So check usps.gov to see how much actual shipping is before deciding the guys are just trying to make $30 profit on shipping.

Delivery charges must have went up, as I looked at the store today to purchase a few stickers (Ended up emptying my cart altogether), but for one bumper sticker, it was over $32 for delivery to the UK.
Crazy...

You can use a package forwarding service like shipito.com. They give you a USA address and forward your package to you, and you get a discount on the international rate. If you ship often, you can get even better rates with package consolidation.
