So the fact that Geekdrome is no longer produced is reported on Digg. Sadly there are a bunch of haters on there. Feel free to vote them down: http://www.digg.com/tech_news/Geekdrome_Will_No_Longer_Be_Produced

I just had an amazing idea, if geekdrome ever comes back, to prevent any future problems and also to keep the show going strong. Now stay with me here but my suggestion is weed. I mean come on. Diggnation has beer and look how well they're doing. They are funny (not saying that you have to be intoxicated to be funny) when they are drunk, they can forgive and forget, and just have a good ol' time. Sure JLo and dan are funny and entertaining, but weed would remove sticks from any crammed up assholes and make future shows funny and hilarious!!! Sure dan wouldn't be there but imagine JLo tripping. That would be some crazy shit my niggers. They could even do a weekly "weeds for dweebs" segment, were they review some Mary Jane right before the comic book segment ABOUT SPIDERMAN!!!. (they meaning jlo and future "cohost")
O.k. I know its a little bit sketchy, but think about it my friends. It's a great idea!

this must be some new definition of "great" that i am not familiar with. is it like "bad" means "good"?

No, it's a new definition where "Weed" means "cock". Check it out:

I think most comments on any blog etc that I read are lame. It's only in communities like these forums, where people are less randomly mean.
anitab83

dicknixon - totally agree. People typically don't leave very insightful messages on blogs, as they know it doesn't impact their standing in a community (vs. on a forum where it matters).

I think a major problem with digg is that people will digg you down for no reason, basically saying "fuck your comment" just because they disagree with your opinion or because they are assholes who want to jump on the bandwagon of Digg haters. I don't have any idea's on how to make a better system, but people shouldn't have the power to censor you unless you're spamming or posting offensive material.
Wait I do have an idea for a better system.
Instead of people only having the option to shit on your comment or pat you on the back for it, why not let users assign it a rating of 1-5, creating an average score per comment. Then allow people to filter out lower rated comments if they choose to, only viewing the higest rated ones, or all of them if you want. Digg should turn the tables and let us filter out the user comment nazi patrol that is out there right now digging down anyone who disagrees with them.

No that's lame. If enough people don't want to read your comment and digg you down into un-viewable (unless expanded), then I'm sure the majority of users don't want to see your comment. I don't think it really matters though. For instance, I read the most dugg down comments over the most dugg up ones. And if I and enough other people agree that your comment should be automatically readable then I'm sure that they'll digg you back up. But you have to remember digg is a community. No matter how biased or stupid the community is, you have to deal with it. And I think the digg down feature is a good resource for getting rid of the truly awful comments.
And your system would suck too. I don't go to digg to evaluate comments. Its not a comment review site. Making it so you have to rate a comment would make it much less appealing and possibly even more confusing for new users. So definitely no "scoring of comments". Digg is cool the way it is. A couple of new features would be great, but the general layout doesn't need to be changed in my opinion.

I bet they have thought of this but choose not to because DIGG is very black or white. There is no "half a digg" and I think they want to keep it this simple straightforward "yin or yang" way.

Durring PS3 fiscal I realized that I had too much faith in humanity. Ultimately I believe the average Digg user will suffer from a system that solely relies on the wisdom of it's users to bring quality content to the community.
People aren't responsible enough to make decisions on what's best for their community. That's why Corporations run the world, they make those decisions for us. For the sake of your children's children, just forget Digg.com. You should only be watching Fox News if you hope to further the human race.
And just for fun, here's some comments I pulled from this entry:
"Jonathan London seems like a prick. He's loud and thinks he the shit."
"I always thought of them as 'geek bullies'."
"one of them - dan i believe, is always an a-hole to the other one."
"geekdrome was dull"
"Good Riddance"
"A show that nobody watched on a network most people haven't heard of isn't going to make any more shows? The horror!"
"they just werent comfortable in front of the camera it always managed to feel like th highschool AV club."
"I am way more into The Sweaty Robot Show"
"london pissed me off to the nth degree"
"Drab commentary, boring set, just so very uninteresting. Maybe *that's* why it is cut? Makes sense to me."
"I thought it was to bland and not nearly geeky / techie enough."
"I agree, never liked it."

AMD has ruled the waves for years, it's only been in the last 4 months that Intel took back the processing crown. While you may of been ahead of your time, you must of been vastly unproductive for the first 8 months of the show. I must say that I noticed you running a little slow.

"I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought Jonathon was a grade "A" asshole and Dan was the only one who brought anything to the show. I would watch the show religiously if Jonathon wasn't there."
"And Jonathon's laugh was SO annoying. I never quite figured out how Dan qualified as a Geek, tho."
"Dan was annoying, I mean how many times can you say "like" in a sentence, I always got tired after listening to him, took ages for him to finish a sentence."
"Am I the only one that hates rev3, diggnation, and all that crap, but loves digg.com?"
"the geekdrome forums are just as bad as the show. i really hate those dipshit members with dicks shoved up their asses who get pissed off because like there cocks, their sense of humor never fully developeded."
"Geekdrome Will No Longer Be Produced!
GOOD. ****ing Geeks."
"I just didn't like them. The show wasn't that well produced, so when I had to turn it up to hear, and then they would start screaming expletives just cause they didn't like some movie...that went over really well at work.
I'd love to find a good podcast about movies, unfortunately they all seem to be populated by really uncharismatic people."

I know! Kids nowadays are such pussies. What happened to schoolyard fights? They don't happen anymore, and if they do, it's expulsion or something way out of proportion. And they cant even carry guns anymore. Jesus, if one kid starts shootin up a school, everyone else there should be able to take him down.

Don't worry Satori, I do save it all for you guys. Nothing is better than hot angry sex with the Dromies.

Well that's a pretty poor sense of humor you've put out on display. You entirely misjudged my first post. What people were saying on Digg was funny. I wasn't making any kinda point, I just had fun reading them and I clearly stated that I only posted them for fun. Not that it really matters, but other people obviously enjoyed reading them too so I'm not alone on this. The End.
For whatever reason you didn't see it that way, so you antagonistically questioned my intentions and asked me "So what?" as if I failed to make some imaginary point that only existed in your own mind. I don't have an answer for that question because I have no involvement in this issue you fabricated. You're arguing against your own false assumption and not with anything I've said or done. It's that simple mother****er.
If you really want me to go **** myself you're going to have to pay just like everyone else. It's only 5 credits to go one-on-one in my cam show. I'll even give you a special, buy 10 credits and I'll give you 5 for free. I also have gift cards available for your loved ones, they make great stocking stuffers! Happy Holidays :) from the whole crew at TightTwinks.com
