the Mac Mini -- picked on and kicked about

I was listening to a Mac podcast, and they were kind of trashing the Mini and being snarky/snide towards it. Saying it doesn't have a place in the Mac lineup, it sucks, should disappear, etc.. I highly disagree. I had my mom buy one to replace their always virus-riddled PC. It's a perfect machine for surfing the web/email/editing photos which is what most people use a computer for. It's not cutting edge, but it doesn't need to be. It's only $599, instead of the usual high entrance fee for the Mac experience. I will be buying one for my living room soon.

If they refresh them at macworld with up to date hardware i'll be picking one up to use with my already in place Desktop setup. I already have a 22" widescreen LCD and keyboard and mouse i like, so i don't need to buy an iMac.

I would not mind getting an old ppc mac mini for a reasonable price.
