too many people played Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and never heard of Planescape: Torment, which was a truly awesome game. it had the weirdest cast of characters that could join your adventure and it was the first game I know of where I could use a severed arm as a weapon. i miss that game.

These are mainly retro games, but bring back the point and click adventure games!
Day of the Tentacle was the bomb. I also will take on any 2D platformer. On the PC back in the day it was all about Comander Keen (The GBC version was balls, I hate password save) and I loved Jazz the Jack Rabbit. The same guys now are doing games with the term 'Unreal' in their title :p
Comic Zone for Mega Drive was cool! Was Toe Jam and Earl any good on the XBOX? I thought the Mega Drive version was over rated.
Anybody play those obscure Fighting and shooting games that came out on the Saturn 5 years after Sega gave up and launched a new system? Apparantly the shooters were real good!
That's what EDGE magazine says!

I dont know about games no one heard of, but I love the games that everyone hears about how awesome they are and no one played. Psychonauts especially, but also Darwinia (crazy concept done extremely well) and the new Sam and Max. I love my point and click adventures.

A couple of free online games:
Dink Smallwood and Well of Souls. Both free, downloadable, and awesome.
Anybody ever heard of Mosquito Man? I played the demo of it and only remember that it was fun and the loading screen featured a smoking pig.
Props to whoever said Shenmue by the way.
Also the Mario Seven Stars RPG for the SNES was an awesome precursor to Paper Mario.
Also good call on Psychonauts, magicchat.
There was this game for the SNES in which you were a chef who cuaght food with a net. I looked on Wikipedia and couldn't find it. What the hell was the name of that?
Mario's Time Machine wasn't a good game, but it's kinda weird to investigate.
I'll be back with more later.

I think that my favorite obscure video game was N2O (or Nitros Oxide) for the PS1. It was great. Especially if you played it whilst inebriated. It was a tunnel racing/shooter set to the first Crystal Method album.

Shenmue one was epic on the dreamcast I loved it I've always regretted never getting number two, I'll have to hunt the xbox verison down.
Anyone ever played Emlyn Hughes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emlyn_Hughes)international soccer for the commadore 64? It have the best football game of the time. I meet Emlyn at a soccer tourment I was playing in Scotland while I was still playing it and he told me he never had "a good go on it" which sounds like they just paid him to used his name. He also told me to only listern to my coaches and not my dad. (EDIT: Fansite about the game) (http://www.ehis64.net/)
[Just read the game was release in 1988 I would of been 5 at time, I didn't get it till 90 I think and didn't play the Soccer Tournament till I was 11/12 so 94/95 ish I was still playing it.]
Psyconaughts for the xbox was my favorite of the last gen, in never sold as well as it should but I doubt many on here will not of heard about it.

Blast Corps. for the 64.
Hell yes. Its one of very few games I can see myself rebuying if it ever comes out on the Wii's Virtual Console.
To contribute: Ikaruga for DC and GC is amazing and I've been looking for a GC copy for a good while now, I had the chance to get it at an EB a few years back, but declined because it had no case. I really regret that :(

Anyone ever play the James Pond (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Pond)games I used to love them. The Aquatic Games was one of my favorite even though it wasn't really a Jame Pond game.
Plus I used to love the first two Discworld (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discworld_(computer_game))games never got Discworld Noir.
