Getting Rid of iTunes DRM?

Had an iPod , got a bunch of songs from the iTunes store, iPod got stolen, got a zune, now the songs don't work with the zune
I know everyone probably know how to do this already but I have no friggin clue how to get rid of the drm crap without using the cd method thing.

I think you can burn it to a CD then rip the CD.
