I was hoping for a little friendly advice. I have been keeping a running breakdown of story ideas for a few years now and, if for no other reason than my own entertainment and curiosity, I would like to attempt to put them down visually as well.
The one small problem I have is that my ability to draw sucks. Bad.
So instead of wasting some talented artists time that will probably lead nowhere, I was thinking I could use some sort of animation or drawing software with build-it-yourself type character creators and backgrounds. I have found a lot of free fonts and advice in general on plotting and things like that elsewhere but the art itself is a sticking point.
Any advice on programs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

FLASH has vector based drawing tools that let you construct all sorts of characters but anything beyond simple cartoons still takes drawing ability. I've never used POSER but I believe it's 3D software that provides manikin like figures.

But no matter what program, it you're trying to do art without an artist, it'll probably look that way. I suppose you could try photo montage or buy a slew of books in the quarter bin and cut and paste existing characters with your dialogue. The result wouldn't look like a regular comic but might be fascinating AND entertaining.

Good luck.
