When did this become a PS3 VS 360 thread?
A debate of this type happens once in a while, but it's no big deal. Different strokes, different folks is always my motto. This thread has really always been about a celebration of gaming and opinions on gaming.

Playing Bully atm. It's fun. Try it, if you like sandbox-ish games with a GTA feel but a lil more lighthearted. And uhm... I don't care on which platform. :D
Today is the day that I finally start playing through Bioshock again. This will help me prepare the awesomeness that, hopefully, Bioshock 2 will have.

I found this @ IGN (http://comics.ign.com/articles/103/1033418p1.html) and more photos of the different types can be found. They cost $20 for a set of 4. A little pricey.

Star Wars junk is a weakness of mine. I think the lightsaber Wii sensor is more ridiculous and worst priced. These chopsticks are better looking and looks better crafted. I think its more ridiculous to purchase these things but if you were gifted them you wouldn't be so harsh on them.

I'm playing through Assassin's Creed. I never finished it first time around and I want the complete story before 2 arrives.
Well, this is Game of the Year...
Yeah, it's pretty amazing. I purchased this and Brutal Legend, and with the few hours I had this afternoon, I was planning on playing both. Needless to say, the shrink wrap is still on Brutal Legend.

My wife is having girl's night tonight, which means I hope to spend some more time on the game. I'm looking forward to it as the first few hours I've played has melted my mind with awesomeness.
On a side note, Brutal Legend is also very awesome. I highly recommend it to fans of Tim Shafer and zany types of games.
I just played through part of the Nepal city level in Uncharted 2. It may be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in a videogame...ever. I got goosebumps.

I played the demo of Brutal legend. I think Jack Black was put on this planet just to star in that game. The demo was a lot of fun. I may get the game eventually.

The parts after the demo are pretty cool. There's definitely a lot to do in the game. I've only been able to play it for an hour so far though, mainly because Uncharted 2 is ruling my life.
Speaking of Uncharted 2, I just played through the train levels, and they are seriously some of the best gaming I've played in a long, long, long time. Like a fine wine, this game just keeps getting better and better...

Invested 20ish hours into Uncharted 2 so far and I haven't even cracked the Multi-player. That will have to wait though, as I have Borderlands coming in tonight. If anyone else here with a PS3 gets it, don't be afraid to ask for some Co-oping if you happen to see me online. Given the hours that I keep though, this probably won't happen often.

Is it worth it to go through the game again on Crushing? I will probably play through the game again, but I want to avoid making the game so frustrating I don't want to play it.
I'm playing through on the Normal difficulty now, and most of my deaths have been from missed jumps or ill advised close encounters with a shotgun.
Also, what are your thoughts on Borderlands? The reviews make it sound pretty cool. It might be one I'll pick up after Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend.
I just beat Uncharted 2. It was a phenomenal game. It pretty much sets a new standard for quality. I'm thinking it's going to be pretty hard to top this game for me this year. We'll see. I still have the majority of Brutal Legend to work through, and about a billion other games that come out in November.

Borderlands is pretty good. It's not very lively though, playing it single player. There's only like, 4 NPC's I've ran into while playing and doing missions. Dunno if this changes or not, but it makes the world seem somewhat bland. Apparently Co-op is the way to go on this. Hopefully I can link up with some peeps eventually.

So I doing the Xbox 360 Facebook/Twitter preview. I started using Twitter do to this update but sadly like Netflix using Facebook, Twitter, or Last.fm is easier and much better to use on your computer. Your computer will give you more functionality and a better time. If your going to use Facebook or Twitter you "NEED" a messenger pad. Also you cannot use any of these programs in game. Which really sucks with Last.FM. Last.FM is the best of the group if you like music just going in the background while your doing things. Zune Marketplaces is the same marketplace but with Zune functionality. Which is cool if you have a Zune. Do you have a Zune? Oh well this might sell some 360's and create viral marketing for games which the real reason for all of this.
Also, PS3's are getting Netflix (http://kotaku.com/5389731/playstation-3-gets-netflix-streaming-next-month)

I totally recomend Brutal Legend to anyone who ever considred to be even the tiniest bit of a metal head. The storylines short, but its really punchy and fun which has come to be expected from anything by tim schafer. I'll admit there are a few clunky moments with the real time RPG elements of the game but it more than makes up for it with an awesome soundtrack and over the top action sequences. Did I mention you eventually get the ability to summon a giant flaming zepplein to fall out of the sky to smite thy enimies? Because thy surely can. long live the metal*

I just found a bunch of time to play video games again, and man it's awesome. Just finished Force unleashed for the Wii (SO frickin' awesome) and The Conduit as well.
The conduit's... interesting. It has a pretty cool story, but if you're just going through it (not looking for all the extra cool stuff), it's kind of lame since it's a pretty basic first person shooter. If you go around looking for everything (hidden messages on the walls), it really adds to the story line. Apparently what gets said on the radio and on TV screens in the game affects it too, so that's kind of cool.
Any ideas for Wii games for me to play? I'm in a rut now since I've beaten everything I have so far

What do you already have? If you haven't played Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, or Metroid Prime Trilogy, then immediately go buy them.
I would also recommend games like PunchOut!!, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., Resident Evil 4, or anything on Metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/games/wii/) that's above an 85%.
If you're looking for something a bit more quirky, I would recommend No More Heroes or Muramasa: The Demon Blade. They're very Japanese games, but very good.

Just finished Uncharted 2 at the weekend ---- It freaking rocks. I loved it.
Now playing Brutal Legend (mainly due to me being a big fan of Tim Schaffer since his days at Lucasarts. So far it has been fine, but i'm not blown away with the gameplay. (everything else rocks, the music, the voice work, the dialogue, the cameos etc)
Well, I'm thinking of putting it on my Christmas list, so all you peeps out there that are picking up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: just how good is the game?
I've been under the impression that it's just Call of Duty 4 with a facelift, and I would love to be proved wrong. The commercials I've seen make me think this is true.

The whole time I was watching it, I thought he was going to give it a bad score, but then, it got an 8.9. His complaints, while valid, don't make me want to play the game less. This is still hitting my Christmas list.
On another note, I'm somewhat tempted to buy the God of War Collection. Even though I've played through God of War 1 4 times, I only played through 2 once. With 3 hitting in April, I feel compelled to play through both again, especially with the price point. I'll probably pass because I barely have time to play the stuff that I have now...but still, it's tempting.

I finished the single player of Modern Combat 2 in just under 6 hours.
So if you are not into co-op or multiplayer I would think about whether it's worth money.
It is a lot of fun to play and has a whole arsenal of cool weapons to play with. However they seriously need to hire a screen writer, the story is so over the top as to be farcical.
I picked up LittleBigPlanet tonight after a brief hiatus. I got stuck at a part and instead of trading in the game in a hulk-like rage, I put it aside. I got past the part I was stuck at, and yet again, the game continues to blow me away with its design. Also, the user levels continue to get better and better. So glad I hung onto this one.
On another note, I find myself a bit bored with Brutal Legend. Maybe another one I need to set aside for awhile?

Depends on what you like to play really. In that list, I think there are some strong titles.
Killzone 2 is a beautiful and well made first person shooter. It has a deep online, and a fantastic single player experience. My only knock on this title, and Humphrey will back me up on this, is that it is nigh impossible to beat on anything harder than easy because the last boss section is unbelievably difficult. I actually traded this in before I finished it, but I had fun with it up to that point.
Saints Row 2 is a great GTA clone with a really strong upside. If you're looking for something like that, you can't go wrong.
Resistance 2 is also a solid FPS. I haven't played it but reviews paint it as a solid single player but great multiplayer game.
Far Cry 2 is also a really, really good FPS. It has an open world concept, and when I say open world, I mean OPEN WORLD. There's very little structure to the game, but that's also one of the upsides as you can attack missions anyway you'd like. Great visuals compliment a deep game. My only knock against it is that it had respawning enemies and you have lots of random encounters that can kill you as you traverse the landscape.
Battlefield: Bad Company is one of the my most favorite online games. So much fun and really challenging, especially if you play with a good group. Skip the single player as it is dumb. There's some really cool tech in this game with the completely destructible environments. Pretty much takes away any and all cover.
Bioshock is the best game you have on this list. It's seriously one of the single greatest gaming experiences I've ever had. This is what all games strive to be in terms of gameplay, presentation, and story. It's truly masterful experience and not to be missed.
The others that I didn't comment on aren't necessarily bad games, but I found myself quite bored with them after brief playing time. Army of Two is just bad in my opinion, and doesn't fall under the boredom category.
Hope that helps!

That have very simple platforming and combat. They have more charm than anything else. If you have PSN or Xbox Live, I'm sure there's demos available for both titles. It really just depends on what you like more, Batman or Indiana Jones as they all have similar mechanics.
And no, I'm not on Twitter unfortunately. I'm glad to help though. It's what this thread is for.

Haven't been on here in a bit because I've been gaming so much. Spent 55 hours on Dragon Age in two weeks, fantastic game well worth the time. Almost done with Assassin's Creed II, also excellent and tightens up all the complaints I had about the first one. I'm done buying games for the year, but I still have a few to finish up like Ratchet and Clank and Borderlands and some to replay again (i.e. Uncharted 2 on Crushing). Despite my having turned back in half of the fifteen games I bought this year, it still turned out great overall. Top 5 right now would be Uncharted 2 (which is also the best game I've played so far this generation), Dragon Age, Infamous, Arkham Asylum and AC2. Five games I'd give a 9 or better to, that's a good year.
Maybe we'll have to do another video game round up on the forums this year, so peeps can pontificate about their favorite games. I'm going to have to wait to give my decisions until closer to January because I didn't buy too much, and I have 6 games on my Christmas list.

I'm currently knee deep in renaissance Italy (Assassins Creed II). Spending most of the time hunting down treasures and all the vasious side missions so i'm not that far into the main quest, but have fully renovated the villa and it is generating cash like nothing on earth (I'm Rich I say)
It certainly improves on the repetitive first game and would be quite happy to say that this is the game they should have made the first time around.
In a fit of boredom, I played some Battlefield: 1943 online with buddy tonight and had a blast playing it. I forgot how much fun that game can be, especially when whomping ass.
I played the demo for Dante's Inferno last night. It's disappointing because I believe the studio behind it was also the one behind Dead Space, which was one of my favorite games last year. Dante's Inferno is basically if God of War had a baby with Jesus. Instead of fighting Greek gods, this game is filled with Christian overtones. It's not offensive, but everything from the combat to the power trees are straight ripped from God of War. It's boring in how generic a copy it is.
I got Borderlands for Christmas yesterday. I had a chance to pop it into the Xbox, and man, is it fantastic! The graphics are gorgeous, and the RPG elements are loot heavy fun. I'm really enjoying myself with it.
I also got Punchout! for the Wii, which is pretty fun as well. Definitely has the feel of the older title, which is never a bad thing.
I still have one small Christmas to go. My fingers are crossed for either MW2 or New Super Mario Bros.
