in short I need to either find out where a specific app stores its save files or find an ssh client that has a directory search feature.

-----lengthy explanation on why I need the above------\/

I've got 400 apps installed on my iphone 3g and another 300 waiting to be installed when I plug in my iPhone. I cant update my music because I would have to wait for itunes to either install all 300 uninstalled apps or uninstall the 400 installed apps. I cant do the selective app sync because I would have to go through and see what apps are installed and what are not. what I want to do is wipe the phone so I can update my tunes. I don't know why apple hasn't made a simple way to organize all your apps. the G1 has folders WTF.

anyway my dilemma is that I am on level 31 on a game called action blox and if I wipe my phone I will have to start all over. I cant start over cause it took me 2 weeks to get there than another week to get back because my brother accidentally overwrote my game. I am trying to find out where the save files are so I can ssh into it and back them up. My winscp doesn't have a search feature (that i am aware of) and I tried looking through almost every folder and could not find the action blox folder. I did stumble upon a directory called mobile / apps and it had a bunch of folders with strings of numbers and letters when i open them i noticed one of the sub folders in each of those folders was labeled with an app name like diggnation.app or tetris.app. I looked through all those folders and did not find the action blox folder. apparently different apps install themselves differently and in different places.

thanks for the help.

I'm probably missing something, but why don't you just let it install all the apps overnight? Then you can update everything without it deleting your game file.

Seriously - 700 iPhone apps? You must have every fart simulator written installed (or queued).

yeah that's how I got all the apps on there in the first place and I tried it but sometimes it'll hang and I'll have to hit ok on some promps.

And yeah its allot of apps but hey at least I've always got something to do.

And never mind on this issue cause I got to level 33 and that's it, it was the end of the game.

I'm still interested in finding an ssh app that supports directory searching.

So you're trying to search through the files on your iPhone?

I use Total Commander (http://drumsplace.co.cc/?page_id=131). You can transfer files back and forth way faster than you can through SSHing, and you can search for files/folders too.

I use DiskAid (http://www.digidna.net/diskaid/) on my iPhone. It lets you see all the files on the phone and move files to and from your phone.
