I was just wondering what people used as their home pages.
I use Yahoo because I use yahoo mail as one of my two main e-mail addresses and also do a bit of yahoo fantasy sports.

I use tumblr due to all the links I've embedded when, or if, I ever use IE.
In Google Chrome, my "home" page is a thumbnail montage of most importants
In Firefox, I usually just go with Google/main, because I prefer bookmarks...
...in answer to your question, I would have to say that it depends on the
way I get to the internet. That usually changes, all the time, so "home" is
where the heart is, sotospeak.

Homepage? What a quaint, old fashioned notion.
I have Opera open into whatever I was onto last time, or onto my "speed dial" page.

Me too. I rarely turn any computer off anymore. Kinda waiting for
the world to end, or to get to that last page of the internet, at
some point. I heard if you actually shut off your computer, you
have to start over from scratch. I've put too much work into this
whole surfer lifestyle to give up now. Besides I'm anticipating this
new porn filter than will effectively remove all smut from the internet
in one fell swoop. The equivalent of an Australian internet a-bomb.

I know I wouldn't want to miss that, either.

I have a customized link page that I have saved on the hard drive. I hate having to wait for the initial websites to load when first starting Firefox, so this is my way around it.

I like to use iGoogle for my homepage. That way I can customize what I want to see/use when I connect.

Speaking of old fashioned, what websites did all of you frequent in the early days of the web? I started using the internet in 1995 -- senior year in college. I used to go to Yahoo a lot for news/email and also NBA.com for scores and crappy low-res videos of key plays. Man, that's ancient history. I sometimes used Excite/Magellan to get different results than Yahoo. There wasn't much info. on the web then. Even large co's had pages with little info., and still today many co's have inadequate homepages or no homepage at all.
In '96 or '97, I was at my uncle's house for Christmas. I was admiring his cool Gateway2000 486 SX 33mhz computer (Pentiums were still pricey and exclusive) that was playing a CD of Christmas tunes over its speakers. My nephew was playing Solitaire on it. My uncle said he bought the PC off of ebay. I asked: "what's eBay?" And then I started using eBay myself. :)

HotBot (*THE* search engine ... before those upstarts from Stanford ruined everything) and WebMonkey (great webdev resource in its day) and other sites that were part of the HotWired family.
Of course, back when I was starting on the web there weren't actually that many sites ... Mosaic was definitely a V0.9 pre-release app, but Usenet, Gopher, and WAIS servers were out there, and for chatting and online games there were my friends on GT Net.

Back when I was first starting on the internet, you'd have to walk up hill both ways to get to your homepage.

Well nothat we are talking about the old days...
I specifically remember my elementary school librarian recommending to us kids to use Yahooligans as our home pages at home... Maybe that just evolved into Yahoo for me.
Once the family decided ot switch out of AOL, I remember designing my own amazing Homestead sites to use as my home pages.
Btw, old days = late 90s for me.

My homepage is non-existant. I use Google Chrome's default "Most Visited Pages" page. It would probably be one of my most visited pages if that was allowed.

My home page is the Firefox Google start page but the first page I usually go to is either Tawkn.com or N4G.com. I don't think I ever made another page my homepage as Google has always been fine.
