With a troublesome economic forecast persistently looming on the horizon
I got to wondering what is in my friend's refrigerator, not for the simple fact
that all too often I intend to invite myself over for dinner, but also tend to
enjoy the interaction of an internet connection when trying to decide how in
the hell I am going to figure out what to eat for dinner. It's also nice to see
how the "other half" live from time to time, and I tend to be dog-like, nosy
much like Snoopy. I had also considered many places around the world wide
wilderness of the internet, and discovered, there is as yet, at the time I'm sitting
down, thinking about it, no single place where a large inventory slash cross-
section of technologically well-adjusted society has actually gathered to
share what is in, the collectiveness, of their fridge. I imagined something like a site like
Yelp! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yelp,_Inc.) being married to something like Twitter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter), incorporating a fast-popularity based
engine like Digg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digg) and perhaps bring in new sponsors...
(Like Wendy's, they've got decent burgers and Wi-Fi nationwide)
In my imagination, putting together a website slash domain where there's this
really slick GUI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphical_user_interface), somewhere between DiggLabs: Stack (http://labs.digg.com/stack/) meets a neat object
based script, where items within a virtual fridge are given popularity by the
number of people who review certain products. Something like a real-time
endorsement of all the hacker-loved goodies we see our favorite all-star
cast of internet character's enjoying, drinking, eating, etc... bringing to mind
the Jenny Craig slash NutriSystem (http://www.nutrisystem.com/jsps_hmr/home/index.jsp?_requestid=2367454) campaigns and the current drink (http://www.energyfiend.com/2008/01/braintoniq-the-birth-of-a-true-think-drink)
of the week sponsoring our favorite shows, in a simple single destination
that loads quickly, is web-based, and falls just sort of Second-Life (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Life)...
In my imaginary virtual fridge, items could be moved around, so that things
at the back could be seen, and assigned priority somewhere along the lines
of a "WIRED (http://www.wired.com/)" magazine's [wired][tired][expired] (http://www.wired.com/culture/culturereviews/magazine/16-11/st_wte) piece, along with which hacker
favorites are "Top Shelf" items that everyone likes, where to get the best
deal on said item, or actually order it IMMEDIATELY. Two doors too, one being
the "chill" side and the other being where we keep our favorite ice cream...
It might also work for a certain internet television network to help advertise
the products of sponsors, short of putting up a "home-shopping-network"
style podcast which I will be forced to skip altogether.
On the outside of our virtual frige could be chatrooms, links of the week,
you basic forums (http://www.foodnetworkfans.com/forum/archive/index.php/f-26.html), bulletins (http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/bulletins/index.html), recipes (http://www.safeway.com/ifl/grocery/Recipes-and-Meals/) made into virtual fridge magnets (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&safe=active&q=refrigerator%20magnets&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi), post-it (http://www.3m.com/us/office/postit/digital/digital_notes.html)
notes, and perhaps even a report (http://www.craphound.com/images/sfphysicsreportcard.jpg) card from the "Student" or "Intern" of the
week. At any rate I figured I'd go frist, since this will inevitably become
buried with the emergence of more pressing matters or result in the more
sinister evolutions, ending in perhaps a, "What's in my Trash" and "What's
in my Laundry Hamper" threads which will be far less appetizing. Here's mine:

Perhaps this has already been done somewhere and I've jus' missed it?
At any rate, I was also inspired by a couple (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16982) of other threads (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103) in the forums.
Feel free to show us what's in your fridge, if anything at all... perhaps it will be merely an expose' on
how f***ing broke we all are, and should actually be a place to share pointers on finding on-line
food coupons and do some bartering of chickens and bags of fruit short of walking down a highway
and I'll admit, some may be embarrassed or ashamed to admit what's in the fridge, because at times,
even I won't want to look in there, almost to the point of the movie CHUD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C.H.U.D.) or Cowboy Beebop episode (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Cowboy_Bebop_episodes) 11...

I miss, and fill the schedule with new content:
