View Full Version : Problems with the new player

I've been experiencing some problems, as well as a friend, with the new player:
If I pause the video, then push play, the video refuses to start playing again, even if I navigate to a different time of the video; I must reload the page.
Occasionally, and seemingly randomly, the bottom portion of the player will not drop down, and is in the way of the video.
When I first load a page, the video is stuck on loading (unless you've set it to first load the whole video, and then play; I haven't waited more than 5 minutes to see what it does). I have to manually push play.
I couldn't find this posted anywhere else, so please forgive me if it has been.
(using Firefox 3.0.5)

It seems to work perfectly on Opera, but the only addon I have on firefox is adblock, so I don't think it's any of my extensions.

It could very well be adblock. Disable adblock and see if the problem goes away.

You're right. Great. Now I have to manually find out what its blocking :/
It still doesn't start immediately, but I can pause and play without problem. Apparently its the Filterset.g updater for adblock.

Couldn't you just disable adblock on your favorite video site. :)

Try going to the adobe site and installing the updated flash player.

Occasionally, and seemingly randomly, the bottom portion of the player will not drop down, and is in the way of the video.
I'm going to confirm I'm also seeing this one occasionally, on a wide selection of operating systems and browsers, latest flash player.
When I first load a page, the video is stuck on loading (unless you've set it to first load the whole video, and then play; I haven't waited more than 5 minutes to see what it does). I have to manually push play.
I'll also confirm I'm seeing this one, but I've been seeing this one for a long time. Player doesn't even attempt contact with the video streaming server until play is pressed, despite looking like it's trying to load something.

Also freezes for me when I pause and try and play again. Maybe it's adblock I dunno, oh well.
