In 1986, I started a comic. A couple years ago, I posted it online:

Go ahead, tell me how much it sucks. I cannot think of a bigger cry for help than this thing. ;)

Ya know, I actually kinda like it. Reminds me of Garbage Pail Kids spinning off of Cabbage Patch Kids, only cleaner.

I thought that it was truly creative, and inspiring. Liked it thoroughly.

I agree whole-heartedly.
Make more! Maybe make another "race" or something. It'd be awesome!

Make more? I drew that TWENTY YEARS AGO!
...although, sadly my drawing ability has not improved at all.

Have you considered some sort of illustration program? A friend of mine (I lost contact with) is married to a guy who does comics, and I talked to him about how it's done, and he made empty heads without eyes and mouths from the front and sides for each character, and several sets of eyes and mouths in different expressions, and dragged whichever he needed for each panel.
You've got a good idea here, and it'll draw on nostalgia. I still think you should work with this.
