I liked Interview with the Vampire, Dusk till dawn, and Vampires.
Bram Stokers Dracula is pretty cool as well but a little long winded.
I would stay clear of Queen of the Damned, and Twilight

Watch the first "Lost Boys" if you haven't already and "From Dusk Till Dawn". I use to like "John Carpenter's Vampires" when I was younger, but I am not sure if I still like it as I haven't seen it in a long long time.
I'm not sure if there is much more good vampire movies that I have seen. "30 Days of Night" was average. Nothing really all that great. I also watched "Let The Right One In" recently and thought it was very original and unique.

"Near Dark" is really good. Also "Fearless Vampire Killers", "Salem's Lot"

Fright Night is a classic.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - the movie
I never cared for the Buffy series. Didn't get much interested in True Blood either.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - the movie
Caught the end of that on tv the other day...I'd forgotten how many recognizable names were in it.
This does remind me I have 2 vampire flicks at home to watch yet...one of which is just plain awful, but the cover caught my eye.

For the life of me I completely don't understand the fascination of vampires in current pop culture.

Seconded. I don't find anything about the genre interesting.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Pump the brakes!
You like the Buffy movie, but NOT the show? That would be the first I've ever heard that from anyone!

If you liked Let the Right One In, you might want to check out the George Romero film Martin--it appears to be another unconventional take on the genre that's gotten a lot of praise over the years. (I actually have yet to see it myself, but its on the netflix queue)

The only very good vampire movies I've seen, are Bram Stokers Dracula and Nosferatu(Werner Herzog version from 1979)
Nosferatu on IMDB: [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079641/]
I also recommend Blade

No more votes for Near Dark? :(
Bar scene alone makes it a worthy watch. Bill Paxton is great.
