Little Big Planet inspiration

So I was going through Apple's movie trailers and I ran across the movie "9" which doesn't come out until later this year. I thought the trailer looked awesome, so researched it more and found out it was based on a short film from 2009. The characters look a lot like the ones from Little Big Planet, and I bet this came out around the same time development on the game got started. It's just a guess. Anyway here is the short film.

But thanks for finding the short! It was awesome and I hope the same can be said for the feature film.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was an inspiration for Sackboy, but then again, it's a little too similar so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a coincidence.
