I want to be a super hero. Does anybody want to do a team up with Apathy Man?

Oh please tell me this is just a spoof on FoxNews for the the Kickass film. Seriously....please do not tell me this is something an actual and 'creditable' news source did.

Not to turn this into a politcal discussion but.....Foxnews just lost any of their sanity that they had left.

I enjoy Fox, their TV personalities are far more enjoyable than CNN's. I mean seriously, there's nothing quite as enjoyable as watching Bill O'Reilly be a douche bag for an hour.

But yeah, I'm pretty sure that this is for real.

Fox news is pretty bad, and that one guy even says that they told him to wear a mask when he normally doesnt.

Truth is, if one of those creepy looking guys was wandering around my house in the middle of the night they would have a hallow point following them. I think Mark Millar was pretty accurate in how 'Kick-Ass' gets his ass kicked, but here in the US that guy would just get shot plain and simple. The only 'superhero' that could possibly be legit is the Punisher, dude with a gun that kills people he deems criminals.

I had to check this out further. It seems to be a true story, since there are other similar news items on google...
http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2008/12/29/men-in-tights-meet-the-real-life-superheroes/
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1348797/reallife_superheroes_just_a_game_or.html?cat=9

and.. the 'real' World Superhero Registry
http://www.worldsuperheroregistry.com/

I can't really be surprised. People pretend to be Vampires and Knights and.. god knows what else. They just don't usually interact with the 'real' world. They exist in LARPer weekends and internet fantasies. This just seems to have the possibility of crossing into the mundane world more frequently. What I fail to understand, however, is how this is news worthy.

notice that this guy doesn't "fight crime" in New York City, or LA, or Washington D.C, or Detroit.

Really how much crime would you run into in Rochester?!?

If i ran into this guy in the street, i think i'd have to Rip off whatever jacket i was wear at the time, knock over the nearest garbage can and yell "WHAT SAY YOU NOW, DO-GOODER?!?!?!"

I believe the story was real and there were some news stories about these real life superheroes before "Kickass". Perhaps they served as partial inspiration for Mark and John's series?

Some of my favorite "real life" heroes (from the superhero registry website)...

China's version of Red Arrow:
http://www.worldsuperheroregistry.com/redarrow2.jpg
"I am Red Arrow, a real-life superhero in Hong Kong. I try to bring happiness to people and become the salt and light of the world."

Polar Man, from the harsh climates of... Canada:
http://www.worldsuperheroregistry.com/polar%20(4).jpg
"Polar Man shovels elders' steps and walkways, entertains children and prowls the streets some nights keeping an eye out for vandals

He models himself after a figure in an Inuit legend, an unknown white man, who provided food and clothing to people in need."

Master Legend of the Justice Force in Florida:
http://www.worldsuperheroregistry.com/ml.jpg
"Master Legend patrols the streets of Florida, fighting crime, passing tips to the police and helping underprivileged people (and turtles) in his community.

'I am a real life super hero born with powers of the veil and voodoo teachings. I have studied psychology all my life and use my abilities to defend the helpless and help the desperate as a specially trained fighter in many forms that I have developed my own . It is the secret of the diamond spirit. It is my duty and my life.'"

That might be the saddest costume I have ever seen.

Let me see Alex Ross make a cover out of that guy. Cant be done, it cant be done.

Honestly I can respect them doing noble things like digging old people out of the snow, or helping people get across a busy street. Its just the idea of these yahoo's prowling the night looking for trouble that gets me freaked out.

I just read on Newsarama that Millar is considering another story in the Old Man Logan-verse. That makes me so excited.

old man Logan has been just great and Steve McNivens art has never looked better. I'd by more of the same.

Millar tried to explain a little about all of his titles kinda merging together (on ign). Since he said once that Old Man Logan, his FF run, and 1985 all work into each other in a loose thread....Man I got a headache just trying to understand the gist of it.

But I will say this; his threading of all these plotlines will probably pay off huge in the future. Dare I say, an event comes out from all of this?
