I wanted the Titans to beat the Ravens. And the refs clearly blew that delay of game call. They failed to call the delay of game by the Ravens. I'm not saying that the Titans definitely would have gone on to win, but they should have had the chance.

I understand the refs are only human and have to watch the players probably more than the clock, but why doesn't the NFL hire some refs to watch the game on TV up in the booth so they can see the game clock right there on the screen? That way, these 2nd set of refs could clearly see the clearly blown calls that we the TV audience can see. Then the booth refs can call down to the field refs to review the call.

The NFL is a multi-billion dollar organization. These clearly blown calls should be an embarrasment to them. And they could easily and cheaply rectify it by hiring a couple of booth referees.

there is an offical time keeper and the game clock is watched by the backfield umpire until play starts. mistakes happen. it is just a game.

They do have people who watch the clock.

And if you watched the reply it was within the given "second elapse time" or whatever they want to call it.

Either way I've seen millions of calls that are by far worst than this one.

Also the NFL is known for drama and what not, "blown calls" and "inches to first" all make the game more dramatic for people.

But man do i hate the flags for taunting and all that crap, like the one on McNabb today when he grabbed the phone in the giants sidelines.

But i know people enjoy the flags on that stuff as well.

Yeah see I understand that but some of the calls they Do are crazy...I understand the phone on(it was in the rival teams area) but you have to admit they have flagged or even charged for some crazy stuff in the NFL.

I'm not fanatical about the NFL. Matter of fact, I'd rather go and watch minor league sports like our local Triple A minor league team the Scrappers (farm team to the Cleveland Indians), minor league hockey, or the local college teams (Akron State Zips, YSU Penguins, Kent State Golden Flashes). Not a bad seat in the house, and seats are $5/$10 and concessions are a lot cheaper.

LoL... One of my favorite show boats was a few years back when T.O. scored a touchdown against the Cowboys and then ran to the 50 yard line and stood on the Dallas Star with his hands raised signifying that he WAS the star...

I think he played for the Eagles at that time.

I think he was a 9er still wasnt he?

but yeah that was very funny and I enjoyed it, prob because I'm not a cowboys fan at all ;)

and now that he is on the cowboys it makes me giggle a little more thinking about it.

I'm very upset at that call as well, especially since I was at that game.
Despite the MANY mistakes that the Titans made, it makes you wonder "what if" that delay of game had been called.

It's frustrating because millions of home viewers could easily see the blown call. Yeah supposedly one of the refs watch the clock but they clearly blew this call. This type of thing can easily be rectified. It's just stupid not having some extra refs (even if it's just in the playoffs) in the booth overseeing the clock/game and looking for blown calls you can only see from a wider view.
