so i got my copy sitting here waiting to be installed. i got to get around to backing up my data so it will be tomorrow before i get it going.

IMO, it's everything Vista should have been. Pretties with performance to back it up. Don't get me wrong, I love Vista. Windows 7 is just basically an upgraded version of Vista, in the same way 98 was an upgraded version of 95. That sad, I also go "meh" to it. I'm running Vista and will be running Windows 7 when it comes out, but nothing in it makes me that excited. It's about where I'd expect them to be except on one thing. Stability. Windows 7 beta 1 is amazingly stable, which says a lot.

I said exactly the same to a friend. There's not really anything big, exciting and new to be honest. There are a few little fancy bits, but that's not what I'm bothered about. It's just better.

Using windows 7 beta right now. It's the first time I've ever installed windows and never had to go driver hunting afterwards.
