Lakeview Terrace is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I think your crazy, or havent seen many movies if this is one of the worst you've ever seen. (maybe you only see amazing films)

its not a bad told story, it has a good pace, good acting and I think shot really well. not in the top 10 or 20 of 2008, but not horrible.

my thoughts.

Lakeview Terrace was one of those movies which the pacing was off, because it takes too long. It really was one of the Crash storylines in vignette form and then expounded upon. Granted Samuel L Jackson was hats off batshit great in this flick like he normally is, but that doesn't excuse the weaknesses and flaws this film has in the story department. This movie didn't need to have the lingering shots of scenery that was more included. I understand it was a reflection analogy but still. The script wasn't deep enough to need a back up push.

All in all not bad. I wouldn't even use meh, but it was a subpar film ranking certainly in the mediocre to decent region. Just too little great and too many mistakes.

I can pretty much say that I'm thoroughly unimpressed by Neil Labute's entire career.

I feel that it didnt explore the whole racial-tension type of theme properly, given that the movie was stuck between a drama and a thriller. And nothing was ever really that thrilltacular because there was virtually no suspense because there was no mystery. It's also a complete piece of non-acting by Sam Jackson, he just yells like in every movie; and certain scenes didnt feel like they fit in well (cop party scene imho).

Exactly. This movie was such a... Non-issue. The race thing was poorly played, as they made it out to be an issue that it isn't. If Jackson had a problem with it and they had played it off as crazy that would be one thing, but once they started throwing in the hammy lines from his friends and the accusations that everyone felt that way it was silly.

And the drama/thriller part. There was nothing to make me worried for either side until the very end. Holy shit, they put up flood lights and unplugged his air conditioner! I don't particularly care.

DVD release is the 27th. Interwebs and employment with video chain and dollar theater are you're only options for the time being.

Tons of DVD copies of movies are leaking out nowadays and being shown on the internet. I'm not going to point at links but I've seen (and not watched) Benjamin Button and Defiance in DVD quality streaming online weeks ago.

Not a good movie. Among many other things I didn't enjoy, I found the pacing to be really off. Every scene was dragged out and many ended with a shot on Sam Jackson's face that felt uncomfortably long.

I gave it a chance for Patrick Wilson, but I did not like it at all.
It was one of the 5 worst movies I saw last year.
