Another easy way to right-click is to just tap two fingers on the pad. Go to:

System Preferences>Trackpad and check "Tap trackpad using two fingers for secondary click"

The trackpad is flawless about picking up whether you are two-finger scrolling or right clicking and it doesn't matter where your two fingers are on the pad. I love this feature. I was doing this with Ubuntu on my old PC and I was really happy to see this feature available on my Macbook. Strangely enough, I still use the button to click in general. To each his/her own. Just thought I share that tip in case anyone didn't know about it.
