I know this show gets thrown around in people's lists, but seriously it's the funniest buddy-screwball-comedy-mystery-steeped-in-80s-references show on TV today. Last week's episode was hilarious (Out of Sight recreation in the hull of a boat = perfect) and it shows no sign of slowing down.

Also, the USA website is crazy good for a basic cable show's online presence: http://www.usanetwork.com/series/psych/

I really should get back into this and Monk...I stopped watching them last year when the January onward episodes started accumulating on my TiVo and I didn't have the time (or wasn't in the mood) for them...when they started being deleted due to out of space I said screw it and cleared them all out.

Both were (are) definitely fun shows though...might have to make time and track those episodes down again.

I like this show a lot, I've Only seen the First season though. Like i dont know when it comes on or anything. And the more serious show would be...The Mentalist? i believe

Meh...I'm tired of hearing the two compared...the only similarity is the main characters are both very observant and help the police.

Yeah, I guess. But I still feel cheapened by The Mentalist b/c Psych is such a great show. Anyway, is anyone catching the new episodes? The "Six feet under the Sea" was pretty good. I'm looking forward to seeing this weeks b/c I missed it last night.

I feel like psych gets over looked because the other is on a main network and more serious(which seems to be ore popular) and yea....I dunno

Like ive said i didnt see the mentalist or whatever yet so i cant honestly compair them...

I would agree if they'd been on the same length of time...but Psych had 2 full seasons before the Mentalist was even around, and NBC was showing the first season on the NBC channels a week or so after they premiered on USA.

ooh ok i didnt know they showed anything on NBC. i watched it on USA after WWE Raw and what not.

So since they showed it on NBC and it had the chance to grow a fanbase i will shut up now :-p

I'm pretty sure they only showed it on NBC because the writer's strike was going on and they wanted content. I didn't really see it as a lasting thing.

Last year, yes...the aired Psych and Monk reruns...I'm talking 2006 on friday nights. The series was new, and I think NBC wanted to get more viewers to start watching it.

Edit: I should point out, they didn't do the whole season like that...

Edit 2: ok, so some google searches show it was a few weeks in August 2006...apparently it was so popular on USA, they wanted to show it to a broader audience.

Much agreement - I'm not much for television comedies, and I hate sitcoms but Psych is consistently so much fun and rather smart. It's my guilty pleasure and I just love the interaction between Gus and Shawn. If there was one current TV set that I could visit and hang out on for a day there is no doubt that it would be Psych! They look like they have a blast making that show.
