January 18, 2009 - There's a cold tearing its way through the iFanboy offices. We apologize for the sniffling.

Will there be a special edition coraline podcast?
Also, is there any sort of ifanboy ad I can stick in my LCS?

I don't know whether it was Ron's excellent pick, or something in the air, but after listening I decided to do the monthly donation thinga-ma-bob.

But I didn't stop there. I then proceeded to purchase an iFanboy INTERN shirt because it was marked-off.

IT STOPS HERE (for now).

I think that Josh and Ron both had legitimate, personal complaints about Final Crisis, but damn if Conor didn't just set up and tear down every single bullshit, Final Crisis-hating-bandwagon-jumper's complaints about the best comic event of all time ever.

Morrison's promised Final Crisis would be "channel zapping comics". Its a conscious effort on his part to comment on the zeitgeist of popular culture.

To one degree or another all of his work is meta-contextual. So, if one does not like that sort of thing, one might be a bit miffed at FC.

There probably won't be a Coraline podcast. It's not a comic, and none of us have read the book. I do want to try to see it, so maybe I'll write a review.

What are you looking for in terms of your store? Just something you can print out, and have him put up? That's really kind of you. If that's the case, we'll try and put something together for you.

Thanks!

Why don't you guys use that iFanboy cartoon image of the 3 of you sitting around reading comics? I always loved that one. Would make a cool flier if you stick the URL at the bottom.

No dont put yourself short like that Labor. That is a very good picture. I would love to see that on a T-shirt.

Although that does seem kinda funny that Ron is reading a 'Fight Zits' comic. :)

I didn't draw that, FTR.

But liked the image of the fanboys.

I was thinking along the lines of a 5 by 7 type card, similar to the one featured in your most recent San Diego show. (with people walking on it)

Anyone know the artist there?

Looks like Jim Mafhood.

Lars Brown, creator of North World (http://www.onipress.com/display.php?type=bk&id=330), and with that piece the co-winner of the iFanboy Wallpaper Contest in 2006.

There's seems to have been a lot of good buzz about IKG. I hope Image gets a trade out fast to capitalize on it. The series really deserves a wide distribution. It was beautiful. Thanks again guys for turning me on to it via the San Diego comicon podcast.

I'm so excited for this trade. I wish I had gotten on issues from the get-go.

I only managed to pick up 5 of the 7 comics for this series, and even if I could find the issues, I still think I'd want this in hardcover. It's a great series, probably one of my favourites of 2008 and I want to support it any way I can. Oh, and that image for iFanboy.com was awesome.

I could have sworn you guys had a flyer that we could print out at one point. I think we all need to put a few together to support the guys.

Would it be ok to co-opt the "Forum Sig" thread by adding some of our flyer suggestions?

Hi guys, I was just re watching the ifanboy xmas episode, and was reminded of the Mauldin books. I was wondering if anybody here other than me likes milton caniff, especially Terry and the Pirates(which was also just collected nicely) In my mind it is just about the best drawn comic anything ever. And, I have a sunday page of original art that my Grandpa bought in the fifties.

It warmed my heart to hear you guys giving I Kill Giants more love! I couldn't agree more that this book was not only a fantastic read, but genuinely surprising. Had the story gone the direction many of us thought, it would've still been worth the effort. But the fact Kelly zigged when we all thought he would zag was terrific. I also think Ken Nimura's art worked well with the story. His highly conceptual, cartoony style wouldn't be right for a lot of books, but captured the fantastic aspects of this tale quite well.

As to Joe Kelly. I get where you guys were coming from in terms of feeling proud of him. As a huge Deadpool fan [I know, I know], Kelly has always held a special place in my heart and I'll buy anything with his name attached.

But don't feel too badly for him! While he did take a bit of a hiatus from the mainstream comics world, it was for a damn good reason. Kelly, along with Steven Seagle, Joe Casey and Duncan Rouleau created Ben 10; the uber popular cartoon series. Ben 10 money = a lot more than a successful run in mainstream comics.

Still great to see Kelly back in his groove, and his addition to the Spider-Man team is going to have me checking out Amazing again, after a long stint away.

Thanks again for doing the show, looking forward to saying hello in New York.

From what I understand, after the show was up and running, the Man of Action workload was relatively minimal. They don't run the show day to day, but rather act as overall consultants. But yes, that money allows them to pursue projects like these Image books which might not pay off for a while.

I Kill Giants got me 'right there' in the same way as the Essex County books did. Any one who wasn't touched (not in that way) by I.K.G. has a heart of stone.
