Does the gridcast TV method of viewing not have current episodes?

You dont need it. All you need is WMP11 and then turn on sharing.

same here, but it would have been a nice perk to skip the download step

Well, I like to say it works great. The video is fast, clear and sounds great. But the only problem(s) I am having are that the episodes are not the current episodes, and that there are only 3 shows on it. So I am wondering when will the episodes be current, and when will there be more shows?

I work for GridNetworks and just wanted to say that the latest episodes for TRS, Diggnation, and Tekzilla are being prepared for TV delivery and should become available either later today or tomorrow. Starting next week, we'll have a faster process in place for making the shows available within 24-48 hours from when we get them from Revision3.

Okay good to hear, will there be more shows or is that up to Rev3?

Revision3 is just starting with these 3 shows and its up to viewers like you to tell them if you want more shows.

Ah, okay. Sounds good, hope Systm gets on there sometime soon.

huh.. I'm still not really ure how this works, but it seems like it's easier to just keep doing what I've been doing, open my PS3's web browser and go to my Rev3 bookmark, then go to the show I want to watch and click the download link (I usually use Large WMV) then it just starts playing withing maybe 3 or 4 seconds. When I'm done and want to watch another show I just go to that shows page and start watching. This things seems like I have to get up and walk to my computer to set up each show I want to watch.

Unless it works like PlayOn where the shows and episodes are listed from the Video section of the XMB. If that's the case it would be nice.

This works great. All you have to do is just install on your PC and now I have the Rev3 shows and more on my 360 instantly. Very nice. Keep this feature and expand on it.

Phil, it's easier just to install the Grid and let it do all the adding to your console rather than adding the rss feeds yourself. BTW, checked out you site and reel. Nice 3D work.

Thank you. I wasn't doing anything with RSS feeds BTW PS3 doesn't have anything related to them. I was using PlayOn and I think this is supposed to be the same thing. With PlayOn you install and run it on your PC, then on the PS3 shows from Hulu, CBS, etc., show up on the Video icon of the XMB. I understand it also woks on 360, both over UPnP. I tried PlayOn's beta and it worked pretty well, but the trial ended and now I'd have to pay if I wanted to keep beta testing.

Just try Girdcast, its really good. You just install. Go to your PS3's video section and the shows are there.

Yeah thanks I tried that and didn't seen anything. Turned out I had to reboot the PS3 before it showed up.

I got the Gridcast software installed on my Win2k3 server (it's on all the time) and now I can access the three shows they make available from Revision3 (plus some from other sites) right from the PS3 video menu. Very nice.

It streams really smoothly and looks a lot better than playing the flash video through the PS3's browser. However, I have never streamed the WMV files like someone suggested above, but I would guess they would be similar quality, because the Gridcast quality is pretty darn good.

Now, to Revision3: Please put the rest of your content on Gridcast. Please, please, please; and thank you!

I tried it with my PS3 on Comcast broadband and NO other network applications accessing the Internet. (...so it's not like I was playing WoW or downloading some podcasts or something.) Diggnation kept skipping. It was completely unwatchable.

Tried it again later. Same thing.

I'm going to uninstall Gridcast now. I've given up on it. Absolutely worthless piece of crap. (Judging by their empty forums, it seems nobody else is watching them either.)

I'll continue watching Diggnation, TRS, Digg Reel, and Scam School via TiVo.

it does seem to work ok but if my HTPC (where i have gridcast installed) goes to sleep i have to go in a restart the server even though it says its running.

and if the episodes are not on gridcast at the same time it launches on the rev3 site it seems like a unnecessary service. i mean when i get home from work i want to fire up diggnation, TRS, ECT and watch my shows not wait days to watch them on PS3. it makes no sense to even have it.

I didn't get how to make this work at first. I kept over thinking how to set it up.
You just have to install it on your computer, then turn your ps3 on and boom your down.

This is one of the rear moments when something just works without you fooling around with it.

I only watch diggnation and the TRS, so I personally don't care if they add any more shows. It would be nice but it doesn't matter to me. What I don't like about this service is that they are slow to update.

Tuesday came and TRS was out. I checked on my PS3 menu and it wasn't there. I waited in till Wednesday morning and it was there. Waiting sucks.

Also the show listings are out of order.

PS: It would be cool if you could tag what ever video you wanted with gridcast and it send it to your console.

I was pumped to see that Diggnation was up within 24 hours, but the size for me was way off. It didn't matter at all with a show like Diggnation, the Revision3 logo in the corner was just cut off. But if this were to happen on a more visually stimulating show like TRS, I'd rather watch it on my computer.
