My last one was a Mac Classic that I bought off of ebay in the late 1990's for about $20. I sold it at a flea market a few years later. I have also owned a Mac Plus and one of the SE models. I guess the Holy Grail would be the Color Classic. The compacts are very portable with the built-in handle and their small size. Oh, and I'd love to pick up an LC II or LC III. Low cost color. The design of these LC's was awesome.

Oh, and I'd have to get an Apple IIc or IIgs. I read the Woz autobiography iWoz and the part about the development of Macs in like 1982-1984 was interesting. Steve Wozniak really didn't work with the Mac dev team. He preferred to stay with the Apple II team and thought that the Apple II was as capable a machine as the first Mac and that the Apple II could have even been improved on. The Apple III was doomed because of compromises and bad decisions by the suits, he says.

I had a franklin and assorted se's. I eventually gave them to charity. The woz i think almost went to work for commodore. I wish he had, things would have been very interesting.

I got a fully functional Mac 512k (second version of the original Mac with more Ram) And I still play with it. Got a ton of games/aps for it. Folks love it at partys, usually to play load runner or asteroids. But the artists and kids love the macPaint retro wonderfulness.

I also have an Apple ][c that I got from Ebay, but never tested because it came with everything but a monitor for it, which I never got.

Also got a Newton Emate. fully functional. I use it in the kitchen for shopping lists and to-do stuff, quick notes, and cooking timer.

Oh yeah, MacPaint was AWESOME! Even on the first 128K Mac. I remember being 12 years old and playing with MacPaint in the school's Computer Lab. Apple made it for the IIc also.

I had one of the early all in one Macs too. We got it upgraded to add the 512k to it and added an external disk drive. Then later upgraded to the next all-in-one Mac. Can't remember which one that was. Feels like such a long time ago. I remember it came with an app to teach you how to use the mouse where you controlled a scuba diver and looked for a treasure chest. The earlier one had a maze where you guided a mouse to a piece of cheese on the other end. :)

My 1st digital camera was an Apple QuickTake that I bought off eBay. Worked great for years, then I ended up recycling it. I tried to re-sell it on eBay, but no takers.

The LC? I bought those when they came out for my assistants, and after I actually sat down in front of one I realised that I was involuntarily torturing said assistants. I replaced them with Nubus'd IIsi's shortly thereafter. Not a classic for me in any way.

Wouldn't mind having a TAM on display though. That was kinda cool.

What's a TAM? Yeah the LC series computers weren't powerful beasts, but they had a cool simple design -- "pizza box" and were designed to be cheap replacements for the IIe. The II and III series LC's had better specs than the original LC.

More Apple IIc goodness. I remember a 1984 ad that said: "every kid needs an Apple after school", and it showed a picture of a teen's room with a IIc. They were $1200. The first Macintosh model (128k RAM) was $2400. The IIc also had 128k of RAM.

I opted for the less expensive c=64 + plus 1 drive ($600) I can not believe I paid that much for it now.
