I have a Dell Mini 9 (Atom N270 GMA950) w/ WinXP that has no hardware accelerated decoding. Viewing the HD H.264 video looks great on it, but can get a little choppy as the CPU is at 80-100% while playing it in Quicktime 7.6. Is there a better video player that is more efficient at decoding, or should I just switch to another download format as the HD is larger than the screen resolution anyways? (1024X600 are most netbook specs). I realize that switching to another format will solve this issue, but would like to flesh all this out so it can be here for others. Which format (Quicktime, WMV, or Xvid) has the lowest decoding demands on the processor but still keeps image quality?

I have a 7-year old dell ultra-portable with a Pentium III CPU. VLC works great.

Well, I played around with a couple different players and formats and found out Quicktime is a pig. VLC works great with the HD videos on Revision3, but if you want to save precious space on a netbook, choose a different format as the HD has higher resolution than a netbook screen. I still want my HD :)
