Kevin twittered about his sis buying him the p90x dvds I've had them for a while but never bothered to try them. Does anyone else on the forum do p90? Is it any good?

I've said this in another post, and P90X is the best at home workout system I've ever used. It's freaking awesome. It will kick your ass. But a word of caution - this system is NOT for beginners. You need to be in semi-good shape even before you start using the dvds or you might get discouraged.
My favorite dvds in the set - Plyometrics, Cardio X, Legs and Back, Shoulders/Triceps/Biceps (there are a total of 12 separate dvds).

Holy crap your not just bullshiting. I thought the work outs would be 30 minute deals but those things a a freakin hour long. I couldn't even finish the first one.
How long before you saw results? Also do you use the suppliment drink?

This sounds a lot like the workout I had with a trainer. She was a former Marine, a yoga instructor, a massage therapist and certified on several boards.
She kicked my ass twice a week and it was all about muscle confusion. An hour long session left me weeping in the shower (not really, well maybe a bit...:o ).

I don't use the P90X recovery drink. After each workout, I make a shake with 1 scoop of whey protien powder, 1 scoop of greens plus, half a cup of water, and half a cup of organic unsweetened cranberry juice. I find this mix really good, and way cheaper than purchasing the official recovery drink. Sometimes pre-workout I also use creatine.
I don't exactly follow the workout plan, in that I use the dvd's about 4 times per week (as opposed to every day). I also work out at the gym 4 days a week at my place of work. I HATE diets, so I don't diet. I do however eat quite well regularly, and snack on the weekends.
Tony's philosophy of muscle confusion really works for me. I find that my body has really responded to this training method. I started seeing noticable results probably about a week into the program, and I'm continuing to improve. I was already in decent shape to begin with, but I find these dvds quite challenging. I'm always pouring sweat after each workout!
Keep it up, and you will improve. In a short amount of time, you likely will be able to finish each workout. I think it's worth it to stick with this program. :D

I worked out with a trainer last year. He was awesome, and actually he's the reason I got into decent enough shape to start P90X. At that point, I really needed someone to'yell' at me and keep me motivated. He also had the philosophy of muscle confusion, which I think really does work.

The one thing they don't tell you about the P90x is that you already need to be in shape to start the program. They give you that initial test to see if you can withstand it.
Also, "diets" are never really good. Yeah you can lose weight quickly but you are also likely to gain that weight back just as quickly. I went from 220 (obese) down to 160 in high school. I had a gym teacher who pushed us but it was well worth it. Unfortunately once I started college, that weight came back. I am about 200 right now. I want to get back into shape except I have no real motivation pushing me...

So I tried them out a while ago. Did the ab workout, and ended up pulling my groin, which hurt a fucking LOT. It does seem too encouraging to take breaks too, which is bad for me. haha
Im sticking to my treadmill.

OMG poor you! Well as I've said in a previous post, these workouts are not for newcomers to fitness routines. They are pretty hardcore, but I think that's what I like about them. :)

You really shouldn't take creatine. Really, really, really shouldn't.

Maybe spray some PAM on it first then.
