Check out Trailer 3. I had reservations about this movie at first, but this trailer has me excited.

Holy shit.

Now, I'm on the Star Trek side of the Star Trek (geeky) vs Star Wars (nerds) side of the debate, but even then, I don't know a lot about Star Trek. However, that trailer was epic, and I got shivers several times watching it.

If the movie can live up to that, I think it's gonna be amazing.

It looks better than previous trailers, but two hours isn't enough for this movie. I think it's going to be a good movie, but not as good as Star Wars. I'm looking forward to see it.

And the trailers GIVE very little away ... looking forward to this as much as Watchmen :)

... and not even Kirk, with Spock at his side, could have completed the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs, though it is debatable who would shoot first - Kirk or Solo.

I was blown away by this trailer.

I heard that in the new movie, Spock mind melds by taking off the top of the skull of the person to see "inside". I guess the non-destructive way takes training.

Star Trek worries me... I worry that it will ruin what makes star trek good, which is a mixture of the politics and ethics involved in an action show. As well as the cool tech. But they seem to be just going *special effects!* and when they're like "we have nobody to take command" and he sits down and says "yes we do" seems like such a manufactured situation.

I will go see it obviously, but I'm still worried.

Was never all that big on Star Trek, but this looks like it could be a good movie even if you're not a hardcore fan.

That's how I feel. Never got into Star Trek, but this movie looks pretty epic. And I'm intrigued about the cast, just because some of them I can't picture in any other role other than what they're known for.

Whenever I see that main poster/image with Kirk's head dipped I always think it's Dexter.

edit: Watched trailer now... acting still looks far too melodramatic. But the effects are cool. Black hole ship FTW ;)

I downloaded the HD version of this trailer, hooked my laptop up to my tv and, I shit you not, watched this on loop for a good hr, hr and a half.

Words cannot describe how awesome this looks. I think this will be the first truly epic Trek film. May 8th can't come soon enough.

I just watched it too, finally. Looks absolutely awesome. Stunned how much the actors look like younger versions of the originals. Especially Spock and Chekov.

Looks cool enough, I'll see it in theaters most likely.



Though I'm really tired of people going "It looks like it's all gonna be special effects" after EVERY SCIENCE FICTION MOVIE TRAILER. Calm down guys, it's a two minute trailer made in a time where special effects can be done well on a computer.

I don't think special effects will bother me in this movie.

I think that Abrams has enough sense to use effects to enhance the movie, not to be the movie ... after all, its not Uwe Bolls is doing the film.

I'm pretty excited about this movie too, I totally agree with you guys, the trailer looks awesome. I'm also excited to see Chris Pine in something other then Just My Luck with Lindsey Lohan!
