I recently started a thread about movie suggestions and got some great feedback, so I thought I would ask my other big question here also.

I love TV shows. I love that they don't end as quickly as movies and that they allow for so much more development and, occasionally, great depth and detailed storylines.

I also enjoy TV shows that are just barebones entertainment (no sports).

I absolutely love:

The Shield (thank you Jeff for introducing me)
The Unit
Sons of Anarchy
24
Prison Break (let's limit that to the first season)
Dexter

I did not quite enjoy:
Oz
Six Feet Under
Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Any suggestions?
I've seen The Sopranos and other shows, I just don't list the ones I'm fairly neutral about.

Thanks in advance!

I actually enjoyed Fringe quite a bit.

"Fringe is a science fiction television series co-created by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The series follows an FBI Fringe Division team based in Boston, Massachusetts. The team uses unorthodox "fringe" science and FBI investigative techniques to investigate "the Pattern", a series of unexplained, often ghastly occurrences which are occurring all over the world. The show has been described as a cross between The X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone and Dark Angel".

That pretty much sums it all up. :)

Yeah, I actually watched the first bunch of episodes of that show and it was good.
I'm currently watching Mentalist and Lie to Me too.

It has to be Lost. You could also try Breaking Bad.

Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, Top Gear, Reaper, 30 Rock, The Office, Dollhouse, Family Guy, LOST.

If you're looking to go back and watch tv from dvd I definitely recommend West Wing. Might just be my favorite show ever.

I am not a sit com fan, so that rules out the How I Met You Mother type shows from any list I make ... with a minor exception.

Dr Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. Its not a sitcom ... its a finely crafted laconic musical, and needs to be seen by everyone.

Other shows ...
Life on Mars (UK and US), followed by Ashes to Ashes (UK)
Sleeper Cell (miniseries on Showtime a couple of years ago, plus its sequel - think The Unit plus 24 plus The Wire)
Babylon 5
Deadwood

Is that I should be watching LOST. I admit, I've seen each episode at least twice.
Right now I am entirely disappointed with the direction (or lack thereof) in the show. (to be disputed elsewhere)

As far as comedy, I love The Office, Two and a Half Men and 30 Rock. I do not like Family Guy.

I will take into account these shows though and begin looking into obtaining them.
I do have the first season of West Wing but have never seen it so I will have to do so I guess!

Thanks guys, helping me out loads!
