Thought I'd make a thread for show ideas for games and such you could look at for your new show.
I'll start with a couple of games-
1. Fallen Earth (currently in closed beta)
2. Star Ocean

I'd love what you guys want to hear about. In the past, my aim was to cover AAA games that everyone wants to play, anything that's great that might be missed, (due to lack of marketing materials, etc) and tiny games that basically don't get covered anywhere else. I'm sure that'll continue in future episodes of CO-OP, as well.

I lived in SF and worked at EA for 8 years up until moving to DC last year. One thing I liked about the old show is the outdoor shot locations. I realize these can be challenging logistically. But SF is such a great city with tons of visual stimulation. Graffiti, People, Restaurants, Skyline, Bridges, etc...
So for those of us not living in SF, I think it its cool to show of the city that IMO is the mecca for the gamers. More places like El Metate. Here's my shortlist:
Momo's with Pac Bell park in the background (just around the corner from the old Hellgate office).
Dogpatch - Isn't Double Fine somewhere around there?
Ocean Beach - perhaps too windy, but a great place to ponder games on a nice day
Take a trolly ride - I never did that when I lived there, but would be cool if you could get one relatively to yourselves.
Take a ferry boat ride
I'm sure you guys and your fans can figure out more great locations on your own!
good luck!

It seems you guys are locked into the two games a show format. But what I thought might make for a cool "third segment" would be some sort of general industry talk. It could be simple or complex based on how much game footage you decide to integrate with the conversation, but something akin to Rebel FM's topics would be cool to see on video with supporting footage. I realize that's adding a lot of extra work to each show, and I don't know how your resources are spread right now, but if you find you have the time, I think it could be a cool segment.

I'd like to hear about Madworld. It's the first in a while that's made me consider dusting off my Wii. It looks like it'd be a fun co op game to play with the girlfriend.

I think you could do something along the lines of "Back Catalog" or whatever it was called on 1Up FM. In video format, I think it would be great!

Yeah, I think a Backlog-type segment might be fun, or maybe the occasional Broken Pixels-style takedown of a really bad high-profile game. To be honest, though, I really dig what you guys do, so I'm not sure how much I'd mess with the formula. (And I especially love that you're getting out and shooting around San Francisco, which is about as photogenic as American cities get.)
How about a segment checking in with Jeff Green? Would EA let you shoot in their offices? You could even hook him up with a helmet cam for his badass motorcycle commute.

Great show guys! Its good to see you guys are still doing your thing :)
One of the things I would like to see, which is inspired by the games to play with your significant other thread, is a segment on that specifically. As video games are a big influence on our lives so are our wifes that stick by us through thick and thin!
Just a small segment showing what is it that they find appealing and how the mechanics of the games allows for our non-gamers husband/wife/other to enjoy those games with us.

As for games, I say it'd be great to take a look at Auditorium considering that game is SO addicting and I could leave it on for hours... (plus they were looking to have an iPhone version as well!)
As for segments, I really think this is a great opportunity to branch out even from the discussion of video games and dive even more into the industry (if that's something Co-Op shoots for). I agree with AJGuy it'd be great to hear more on the industry.
Maybe do a special episode to do a roundtable post-mortem with a producer/director/employees of a company.
Either way, Co-Op is off to a great start :)

I think that a smaller segment dedicated to high profile dlc would be great. I'm just talking add-on dlc like the controversial VS. mode for RE5. just an Idea. Sry, it sounded better before I actually typed it, lol, but seeing as it's only 5 bucks I'm not sure if it will get a traditional review from anyone I trust so "it would be great to hear impressions of it on CO-OP."

How do I get my profile picture to show up in my post? And is there some way to get it to say CO-OP instead of newbie or is that like only for "special people" or something, lmao.
I tease out of love.
Edit: NM about the avatar. But what's up with this "newbie" tag, is that my lv. ? Or can I can I change that to say something else?

You can change it by posting a lot. After you've posted enough (maybe 50 posts, can't remember) you'll be a member instead of a newbie.
I've always been pretty pleased with the 1up show's format. I haven't had a chance to watch beyond the intro of this first episode yet, but assuming you are following a similar format I'll be happy. THere's always a nice mix of AAA titles, downloadable games and niche titles. I'd love longer shows and more content, but I'm assuming time and your revision3 contract make that unlikely.

Of course, I knew that. Just couldn't tell with all the newbies and special people. jk.

I hope you guys will still do the occasional "special" like how you guys went out to that Street Fighter clubhouse thing. It's cool to see the gaming culture out in the real world, instead of just on message boards and what not.

You guys have always done such a great job of being on top of every game I've been even remotely interested. Peggle XBLA just hit, but it got some coverage in a LTTP special towards the end of the 1up show. I can't put down Retro Game Challenge, but there was a segment on it on the 1up Show like a year and a half ago! I think as long as you keep doing what you're doing, a smile is going to be on my face. Keep up the good work.
Also, for everyone who mentioned the backlog, check out the following link:

Many ex-1uppers over at the RebelFM podcast have started a spiritual successor to the backlog with some of the Area5 dudes as well. They're playing Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (or 'of the Ear' to those of us using backwards compatibility.)

How about a segment on cool jobs in the gaming industry with an interview on site in the workplace. I'm thinking kind of like the EGM Take This Job articles.

I know the office was probably used as a convenient setting back in the 1up days, but I think it would be cool if it returned as a setting. I like the street pieces, but seeing people like developers and other reviewers in their work environments is cool too. It gives a bit of a view into the structure required to produce content.
Also getting developer and designer interviews would be great. There are a million places you can go to get opinions on review builds, but you don't hear from the other side of the fence often enough.

Someone just suggested it. I second that. Talk to some of the people who have cool jobs. Maybe start with all the guys who have recently switched sides from journalism to development. How are they doing? What do they like about their new gig, not like about their new gig.

We're reading all of these! While I don't have time to respond to each one specifically, I can say that you're all on the money with these ideas! I don't know how long it's going to take before we've streamlined our process, bought enough equipment, and are making enough money to branch out in what we cover and the way we cover it, but this kind of feedback is exactly what we're going to need when we are finally able to make those decisions! Many of the things suggested here is stuff we had wanted to do while still working at 1UP and just didn't have the time/resources to make it happen.
I guess I'm saying: keep 'em coming, but don't think that because we can't get to it "soon" that we're ignoring your ideas :)

Ahhhh! It's not fair, lol, I want a special title too and not something stupid like Elite Poster, it should be something more like "The CO-OPANATOR"! or "The CO-OPERVIZOR"!

I think you should get rich by being sponsored by clothing companies, or they should at least send you free stuff, because I would wear anything you told me to :)
