This is a shocker, Alex has a contract. That and we are taking Vallywags word on something.

I would like to hear where the source came from. It is small unconfirmed rumors like these that launch into something big and can result in things actually happening.

makes sense, the guys really have nothing in common anymore. That makes for an entertaining show but as a friendship, i don't really see the appeal.

ya, no shocker there, if it is even true. you can tell they probably aren't really true friends anymore. if they are, they have an odd "chemistry" that i'm not catching. alex can be pretty funny sometimes, but he's not very tech savvy. i've always liked that about kevin. he actually seems to give a shit about tech stuff for the most part.
i just wish they still did the shows out of just wanting to have fun, but i also know that's now how the real life is when it comes to businesses/work/etc. oh well.. f it. i'll still watch the show no matter what. i have nothing better to do at work
(just my opinion.)

Seriously?
OK, someone pointed out that Kevin Rose is more tech oriented, although both went to school for tech related stuff. Alex is the entertainment minded performer, you think so? Being an aspiring actor and all?
BTW, this is the first time hearing about that site, valleywag or whatever. Did anyone else find that article hard to read? I actually struggled to understand as I read the thing. Seems like someone bad at what they do trying to get attention. Good or bad.

valleywag is a sister site of gizmodo, kotaku, and lifehacker.Valleywag does break the occassional story, but most of the time its a hack (as in poor journalism) site with less credibility than a supermarket tabloid.

This looks like something only Valleywag could find. I've seen no sign of a forced relationship between Kevin and Alex. Both of them might be a little tired of doing the same show nearly every week, for the past 2 years. That, though, is a problem that is easily resolved by taking a vacation.
Short of that, the friendship between Kevin and Alex, appears just as strong now as it was nearly 200 episodes ago.

Yes, seriously. Someone did state their opinion. I'm aware both went to college for tech related studies. It's not going to change my opinion.

That is the only reason I was reluctant to even post it. But since ONCE IN BLUE MOON they have something solid, I decided to post and ask. I have been viewing diggnation since ep 2 and I dont see them having any less chemistry but then again Alex is an aspiring actor. lol

Alex has recently tweeted this:
"Super fun... Now sleep another pilot audition in the morning :)" which had me wondering what would happen if he actually GOT a pilot/show?
Sure he could realign his schedule, but seriously, if you had a fun (albeit money making) hobby that interfered with your job, what would you do?

Also, I wouldn't mind if the show went on break for a few weeks and gave these guys time to refresh. These guys are busy people. They have their own personal lives to deal with. The episodes I ignore and use as background noise are the 2nd episode that they film on the same day, other than that I almost always enjoy watching the show.

Are you kidding? "Diggnation" is a license to print money. There's no way they're going to allow the show to lapse.

I sincerely hope this isn't true. Don't get me wrong, if Alex hits it big and lands on a huge TV show or film, more power to him.
The guys seem friendly and they get along. I mean, part of what's great about Diggnation is how real it feels sometimes; they go off on tangents and share stories. It's not exactly a faked relationship.
I'm just hoping this isn't true, because that would really suck. Okay, I realize that sentence was lame, but it's true.

I don't think they're fake friends either, but you have to think that few things last forever.
Do you think the guys will still be doing Diggnation 10 years from now? Will Digg.com still exist? Will Digg.com turn into /digg/ ala /b/ from 4chan? Meaning it'll be literally a garbage dump?
I don't know, kinda makes me think what I will be doing in 10 years.

i have to say for awhile now i've liked Alex more then Kevin. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Kevin, I don't see him as a tech genius, although he is smarter than me. I think kevin gets more love from fans because alot of people watch because of him. Thats how i found out about Rev3.
Come on people show Alex some love too
I hardly believe that is true
that's weird
Alex is a more likable person than Kevin and I've always liked Alex more. I doubt that this is true.

Yeah, i don't really think it's true. Digg would have been history like two years ago if valleywags stories were true every time.
Also alex still seems to be excited to shoot diggnation, either that or he is a good liar on twitter and what he said on that Q&A on that live audience TRS didn't seem to me like he's wanting to quit.
The show has slipped but like every show it has it's ups and downs. I would wonder how the people who have grown 'to cool for diggnation' would react to it, though.
As it's already been said, diggnation is money for rev3 IIRC it's still in the top 3 (with Tekzilla and TRS, i think).
On a sidenote, everything must end in time. Will rev3 still exist 10 years from now?, will the internet collapse under the rapidly raising traffic?, how long will you live? Enjoy it while it lasts (duh).

I would agree. There seems to be no lack of chemistry at all between them. Episodes have only gotten better. And who is to say Alex is Kevin's side kick? Would definitely not agree to that assertion when it comes to the actual show of diggnation.

/\ yup. completely with you klitzy and cyber.....
just because they make jokes, or have a SLIGHTLY different background means nothing.
the only thing i could see stopping Alex being on DN would be him getting a job on TV, as he has been trying to do recently. even then he could still do DN if he really wanted to.
on a completely unrelated topic, did anyone else that they found some crazy looking creature that looked like a dinosaur? some where around a lake called "loch ness"......

anyone else find the story very rumor-y?
Let's sum it up. They say Alex wants out, yet provide no quote, no source, nothing. just that they heard it. Yet, the ONLY quote they do have is Louderback saying that he hasn't heard anything and that they are "posturing"... Let's almost not forget they call Alex forgettable, Kevin's side kick, and various other things that make him seem to be nothing compared to the "geek hero" that is Kevin Rose.
Honestly, this story sounds like it's grabbing at straws. trying to get people's attention... Them making a real TV appearance, only to be brought down by the idea that one wants out... sounds like a typical rumor piece...
Seems to me they are Kevin fanboys and just hate Alex. I never really liked valleywag anyways.

If you're going to believe Valleywag, you may as well believe the Weekly World News, the rag that "broke the story" of Batboy. Although we did get a highly amusing stage musical out of Batboy.
